Dec. 17 New Orleans Bowl

Cincinnati (7-6)

vs North Texas (7-5)

http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2...ew_Orleans.htm

"What will happen: Have you ever seen a basketball game when a team comes roaring back from a huge deficit, only to have nothing left in the tank to actually get over the hump and win the game? There's a slight sense that Cincinnati might hit a wall like that. The Bearcats have gone through a roller coaster needing to scramble to become bowl eligible, along with dealing with the fiasco in Hawaii. North Texas isn't going to have that Hickory team in Hoosiers look of total awe playing in a big game this time around. This is a team ready for a big performance on a national stage. This defense really is that good, but unfortunately for UNT fans, the Bearcats have a good enough defense to completely shut down the Mean Green offense. North Texas will play hard, but won't have enough to deal with the overall talent of Cincinnati.
CFN Prediction: Cincinnati 24 ... North Texas 13 "

I think I know what a Bearcat is. I'm not sure what a Mean Green is. Oh well, at least it's college football. Anyone going to be watching? Plus this is the first game for the sercond greatest time of the sports year for me. (Only the NCAA Tourney is better)

You have to be a die-hard (or a gambler) to watch this game.

The Cincy QB threw 4 INTs in the first half. The North Texas defense has been very good (as they were most of the season) except for the first drive.

Cincy is starting to get momentum. If they can score a TD here and pull within 7, they'll be in great shape.

Fun game. Early on it looked like we might have a blow-out on our hands, but Cincy hung in there long enough to keep it entertaining. Big win for the Not Really That Mean Green.

North Texas makes up for their loss in the 1947 Salad Bowl (I'm not making that up. Well they didn't really play Cincy in the Salad Bowl, but there really WAS a Salad Bowl)

Nope. I guess the question is whether you prefer B-level comedy names like the Salad Bowl or mediocre business names like the Continental Tire Bowl. I'd have to go with the Salad Bowl.

Still think we need a "Toilet Bowl" for the worst two teams...

But then we would need some complicated system to determine who are the worst...

Or we could just let Baylor and Rutgers play an annual series.

WHOOOO!!! I am now in the number one spot in the football pool!!!! (I had no clue who to pick for ANY game, so I randomly circled teams) Only my Aunt and I (who I'm figuring also randomly guessed) picked North Texas
