Great Day for Sports in the State of Texas

Oh yeah, there was some dude who set some record for running with the football at some stadium they forgot to finish the roof on, but, the real deal is:

With the Angels winning last night, the Houston Astros (founded in 1962) and the Texas Rangers (founded in 1961 as the Washington Senators) are now #2 and #1 respectively on the list of oldest teams to have never won a World Series!!!!! (a combined 83 years of baseball)

I'm so proud, I'm wearing my special belt buckle today!!!

I've known a few Aggies that walk around with a buckle that big sporting A&M logos. I think it cuts into their gut when they sit down or bend over.

42 years of futility. While I was only around for 26 of them, I can say that statistic made me pretty damn sad.

The day the Rangers are standing there holding the World Series trophy will be the happiest day of my life. I can only hope I'm still alive when it happens.

Somehow I think that those big belt buckles are overcompensation for a lack of something else.

You forgot to mention that the winless Cincinnati Bengals have guaranteed victory against the Texans

It's only a matter of time before one of those teams raises enough money to pay off the officials as great teams from the past have been able to do....

Hi Y2K Falcon,

Though I'm not a football fan, I did love your big belt buckle. Where did you get it? I buy mine in here:

I didn't even know things this old were still on the server. If it was me, I'd have any thread not bumped in 3 years automatically deleted, unless it was in the archive.

Wow, I was wondering just the other day "where in hell can I go to get a really ostentatious belt buckle?"

Now I know.

What I want to know is why a guy from Baltimore would wear a belt buckle like that. I've not been there, but I'd imagine you'd get your ass kicked right quick if you walked down the street with that.
