So all of this talk about Thanksgiving and football, you guys are really talking about soccer?

Call it soccer (except those DVDtalkers that live in Europe, I will check your profile)

I mean, who eats too much turkey and dressing, and the naps in the living room with soccer on TV?

Thanksgiving=football (American)

Who cares=Soccer

Thank you.

From bench warmer to premiere starter...

Noogums 1B 38 181 104 .574 56 12 1 24 85 0

24 HR in 38 games makes this player the 4th power hitter on my team.

Now.. if I can figure out what to do with this player

Dib C 38 195 118 .605 80 6 9 3 40 0

He's got a great average, but low RBI and HR.

He used to be my right fielder, until I put my old catcher out there and found out the old catcher made a better oufielder.

When i tried earlier, down in the bottom of the splash screen it said "Free DT until 7:00" I hit DT button , it acted like it was going to start , then went back to the splash screen. Now I don't see the "free DT" anymore.
PS . Oh, and I also got a a 725K download when I started up.

yea, commish started talking about that a couple seasons back
looks interesting.. to be able to arrange game starts ahead of time
but there hasnt been any mention of when its going to happen

not that any of us would need something like that

edit.... although.. i just noticed one of the options is skill batting! that would be nice to be able to automate skill bat training!

How did everyone come up with the name of your team and players? Just curious about the stories behind them.

I was a history major (with a concentration in WWII), so I called my team the Rhode Island Generals. Thus all my players are named after great generals: Patton, MacArthur, Grant, Nimitz, etc...

Mine's pretty simple..

Name of a cartoon that was on Nick, Invader Zim. So I called my team The Invaders.. Player names are characters from the show.

Before I changed to my current name, it was HockeyTown, for the Detroit Red Wings. The player names were players on the Red Wings past and present(mainly present).

I went to Texas A&M University, hence the Fightin' Aggies.

The players are named after various players and people that went to A&M.

My team name, RainCity Objectivists came from the fact that I live in Vancouver, one of the rainiest cities in North America. Objectivists is from a philosophy, Objectivism, created by Ayn Rand, a novelist. All of my players names are characters from her books.

Cheers

I was originally "Woodys Teem" which contained people I worked with. At some point in time I discovered I wasn't playing certain people because I don't like them in real life (Like Kevin! ).

So I becaome WooDy's Round-up, with players named after Toy Story 1 and 2 characters (except Buzz, who I despise)

I would like to change my ID to WooDy, but I do not know how to go about doing that. Woody is just a family nickname older than I, but I like carrying on the "tradition" so to speak.

well, my team name comes from some flash movies from Panasonic in Japan (click on my sig to check it out). For my players, I figured I would stick with a Japanese theme and name them after anime characters.

If anyone hasn't checked out wheredebo's team theme song, definetly do so now!

The song is so damn addicting... you'll find yourself humming it for days..

my original team name was bamasucks! (because Im at auburn fan and hate bama) and my players are all named after popular simpson characters

in first several seasons, my team was really good and pretty much on level with everyone else.. then I went out of town to a wedding and wasnt able to train them very well (if at all) for a few days.. and when I came back, they pretty much sucked.. and it was all downhill for quite some time after that.. then the next time I was out of town on business, I couldnt get DT to work from the hotel.. so I asked y2k to train them and play my games.. and my team took another big slide after that one night (yea, i know y2k couldnt have destroyed them in 1 night).. so i started commenting about how y2k had given them bad mojo..
and eventually changed my name to that.. using the picture of mojo from the simpsons

The weekend before I created my team I re-watched the entire 2nd season of the Sopranos. All their names were still stuck in my head.
