WWE Smackdown 10/24/02

From smackdown.wwe.com:

SmackDown! preview for Oct. 24, 2002

The fallout from No Mercy continues Thursday night on UPN!

The unlikely duo of Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle worked well together at No Mercy, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship Tournament. How long will these two long-time enemies be able to coexist? Find out Thursday on SmackDown!

Also, Thursday's SmackDown! marks the return of Big Show to the program. After weeks of feeling uncomfortable with his roster spot on RAW, Big Show demanded respect from General Manager Eric Bischoff. What Show got instead was himself traded to SmackDown! The giant will undoubtedly want to make his presence felt. Be sure to see his return Thursday night on UPN.

This and much more lights up the small screen at 8/7 CT Thursday night on UPN!

I always look forward to Smackdown. While Raw my favorite wrestler of all time, Chris Jericho, Smackdown has everybody else I enjoy, Angle, Beniot, Guerreo, AND THE CRUISERWEIGHTS!!

Of course, we'll probably see 30 minute Brock/Undertaker segments (sigh).. but it looks like Taker is taking some time off, so now we're going to be subjected to Lesner vs Show for the next PPV?! Good God. Well, do you think Lesner can F5 Show? Is show really worthy of main event status while better wrestlers are stuck in the limelight?

On that note.. has Brock even LOST a match yet?!?!

Yeah.. while Angle and Beniot are defending the tag belts..

Does anybody else find Lesner unbearingly boring now, but at least see there's SOME potential there.

He lost a match by a DQ to RVD some time ago, but hasn't yet been pinned!

And when he finally gets pinned, nobody will even remember who this guy is.

This doesn't really have much to do with smackdown, but I saw it on Wrestlecrap and thought it was funny.

Thoughts?

The Angle/Beniot match was good as expected. Be interested to see them play off the tag team against each other role. Does anybody remember last year around this time when they had The Rock and Jericho tag teaming? It was the best I've ever seen. One would hit the other with a finisher and walk away during a match, but then run back into the ring and help them from being pinned. God that was priceless.

I left the room for Undertaker's 20 minutes of fame. And Brock/Show doesn't look too horribly interesting, although, if Brock manages to F5 Big Show.. damn.

The Guerreos vs Edge/Rey was decent, though now it's look like we have a repeat tag title match for Surviovor Series. But can you complain? It was the best match of last PPV, sadly speaking.

Matt Hardy looks to be going strong, though why do they keep putting Rikishi on TV?! All that great talent on Velocity (Shannon Moore anybody) and we get to see his fat-ass rubbed in people's faces every week.

I also would like to see Kidman win the cruierbelt. Yeah!
