I've moved the unused scrub teams to the inactive list so they won't clutter up the Overall Standings page.

Season 13 starts tomorrow morning at 9AM PST/ Noon EST. I'll hand out trophies in the morning and change the site to say season 13.
dammit.. stupid shadow! he quits and kicks me out of my safety in the 2nd division

and thanks for going ahead and replacing the all stars in the AAA division.. I know HR doesnt mean much, but since that team isnt far from 9*, I want to at least keep it respectable.

Something appears to be wrong with the first division.

Somehow Bad Mojo got accidentally entered. If dancinns could correct this and get him back down to division three, that would be great!!

And now for my comments/thoughts on the last thread:

First congrats to the Death Valley Desroyers, I feel a little better about losing to you now that you have won the Champions Cup.

And Darkelf, you were discussing your training schedule, you practice only power. I am judging that your are getting enough skill/contact just from power you do not have to specifically train them in those areas?

And for Borst I believe, who asked about training methods. For two seasons ago and the first half of last season I was doing a daily rotation. Mon-power, Tue-throw, etc. I did this for every player (including catcer and pitcher) and then made my 9th star. At that point last week I switched to training each player by where they ranked on the clipboard. I don't think my team did as well training with this method.
I do however only practice on skill per player at a practice (except benchies who sometimes get 2 skills)

Finally, I think the difference between fielding practice and playing cath is as follows:

Fielding is catching, and some running
Play catch (alone) is mostly pure catch with some throw.
Play catch (2+) is catch and throw

I think it just depends on what you are going for.

Congrats to Death Valley Destroyers, I don't feel so bad getting pummeled by you in the CC now.

TDD, the Red Raiders must have been slumping worse than I was yesterday because somehow I won both of the games (10-9 and 9-5).

Hopefully I don't get any pro league challenges today.. I haven't trained since sunday as I want to try a full 2day pie training session.

At least I initiate 2 of the 3 dtsl games today.

All I see in Pro-league is fightin' aggies and OC Indys.

I do have some teams I have dealt with before. I am sure a couple will initiate today. Hopefully I can hover in league 6 and not get demoted.

Uh oh.. FaqBot returns..

ANyways.. games can start to be played after 12pm EST/9am PST.

You initiate games that have the submit score link. The others people initiate against you.

You log into your teampage and you will see the submit link. Once you play the game, you click on the link and type in the score.

Umm... Please remember to capitalize it correctly. It's "FAQBot".

Attention DTSLers:
HorrorDVDTalk Monsters
The Chakram
The Robert DeNiros
Chambers Hill Heat

Check your pro-league schedules. I don't know whether the team was abandoned, or they just made a dancinns-like substitution, but any time I can Mercy Rule a Fifth League game, I'll do it (twice on Sunday).

Initiate against Ryes Crew (RYC) now (if the game is yours to initiate)!

the best way always seems to be posting in the smallball forums with a subject header specific to the commish

No, I'm quite sure I said that I occasionally throw in a hitting skill session, and with less frequency, a contact session (since power does a fairly decent job on contact too).

Finally, I think the difference between fielding practice and playing cath is as follows:

Fielding is catching, and some running
Play catch (alone) is mostly pure catch with some throw.
Play catch (2+) is catch and throw
I misunderstood the question then in the previous thread. I thought he was asking about the skill name, not the various practice areas. So I was referring to the actual name of the skill. You gain "+x Catch", but we often call it fielding. You gain "+x Pass", but we call it throwing. It does get confusing.

So yes, there's a big difference whether you put them in the fielding pen, or the tossing circle. I *never* use the tossing circle.

A question of Etiquette: Should I contact the team I'm scheduled to play prior to starting the game?

no, you don't need to do that.

you can post the game info here in this thread, though.

Okay, didn't know how responsible I needed to be in letting the other get his day's training taken care of.

Not that it matters much, I'm sure I'll lose every game this season, being my first.
