Quincy Carter benched for next Cowboys game

'bout time.

Chad Hutchinson will start. Let's see what the rook can do!

Edit: oops on the typo in the header

With Smith only 93 yards from the record and Seattle sporting the NFL's worst run defense, don't expect a passing frenzy this week. They'll run a safe dink and dunk passing game and run the hell out of Smith and Hambrick....

Yes, there most certainly are.

I can't believe that Jerry Jones finally gave up on his "secret-weapon" draft idiocy and looked at the progress, or lackthereof, with his eyeballs. His stupid ego locked us into this horrible quarterback for 15 games too locked. Jerry wanted to prove to the world that he could fetter out the hidden talent that no one else could see, a la Jimmy Johnson.

I hope that Campo is next. Get a real football coach in here to restore some excitement. I have never watched a Campo game (or Gailey) and thought "This is the start of something big." He is a faceless coach with a boring game plan, mindless play-calling, poor decisions, and numbing coachspeak.

I don't know if Hutchinson is the answer...I doubt it. But anything is an improvement.

Test Hutch.
If no results, draft a QB in the first round.
Let Emmitt ride into the sunset after he gets his record and go get a young free agent RB.
Get a tight end from anywhere....anywhere
Talk Tyrone Willingham into falsifying his resume, hire him, and get him to coach this uninspired, unexciting, and (nearly) unwatchable team.

I was hoping Carter would do well and I even hate the Cowboys. He just seemed like a pretty nice guy and humble and those are the types of athletes I want to see succeed, unlike Moss, etc.

Humble maybe, responsible....no. He has never accepted responsibility for any of the offensive failings of this team. Here's how interviews go with Quincy, when being asked "Quincy, how do you feel about the offensive performance of this team and the lack of production?"

Week 1 "Well, not all of the mistakes out there were my fault. I'm only in my 9th or 10th NFL start, so I'm still learining this offense."

Week 3 "I'm only in my 11th or 12th NFL start, so mistakes are going to happen."

Week 5 "This is just my 13th or 14th start, so I am still growing into........."

Blah, blah, blah blah. I heard this junk again from him this week, just before it was announced that he would not be starting. When I hear this stuff, I hear "This will always be my excuse for not being a good QB." I am just glad Jones heard the same thing.

Quincy has also, apparantly, been at odds with several members of the coaching staff.

at 12 or 13 carries a game it's tough to crank out monster stats. I'd say 4.2 yards a carry isn't too bad for an old man. Don't worry, he'll get his carries this week. Believe it or not, he's still on pace for over 1,000 yards as long as he doesn't get moved behind Hambrick after the record is broken.....

Just out of curiosity, does Carter have any experience at any other position. Does he have the ability to be a WR (ala Bert Emanual) or a DB?

Exactly. I don't understand why so many folks Emmit-bash. He seems to be running fine; they just don't give him the damn ball enough...

Im not bashing him.. i just think its silly that he is getting so few opportunities to run the ball
obviously they havent had any offense to speak of.. and quincy has done a much better job at hitting defensive backs than receivers.. so they should have at least been trying to run emmitt more..
it doesnt surprise me that he is on pace for over 1,000 yards.. but I dont think 1k yards means near as much today, as it did 15 years ago.. now, that should be expected out of any starter.. i think a star runner should be at 1300 or above, in my opinion.

Thank you!!!
And out of those 12-13 carries, some jackhole thinks 8 sweeps are a good choice.
ATTENTION MR. COSLET:
Sweeps and option runs only work with extremely fast backs (and quasi-intelligent quarterbacks). Freakin' idiot! (oh yeah Mr. Coslet, I don't know if you noticed....Larry Allen is on the bench!!!)

I think the fact that they're both staring at amazement at what the ref is pulling out of his pants is more...interesting.

Some will bash Emmit just because he's won 3 SB rings, he plays for the Cowboys or because he had such a great O-Line in the early 90's.

Sports is funny that way, it inspire many to irrational hatred of people they don't even know..... speaking of hatred could somebody please give Jerry a wake up call?

I can't believe it took them 15 games to figure out what we knew in one.

Man, I'm so glad he's benched.
