Big Quasimodo says:

I missed the DTSC DVDTALK League, so have started another head-to-head, autopick Yahoo league so that I will not be forced to take up pilates yoga or some other trend for basketball season.

Please feel free to join if you are an active owner who likes to talk trash. Those who recall the humility and graciousness of the champion Big Quasimodo squad from last year will no doubt be eager to join. I especially invite those owners who may not survive on only 1 DVDTalk Hoops league.

Here are the details:

LEAGUE THREE (YAHOO HEAD-TO-HEAD #2)
League ID#: 55166
Password: geoff

Draft Type: Auto
Yahoo! ID: _norrinradd
League Name: DVDTalkII
Team Name: Big Quasimodo's
Email Address: [email protected]
Show Email: Yes
Notify Me: Yes
Maximum Number of Teams: 10
Maximum Players on a Team: 13

Scoring Type: Head-to-Head League
Waiver Time: 2 days
Last Trade Date: Thursday, February 20
Trade Reject Time: 2 days
Roster Changes: Daily
Starting Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, IR

Statistical Categories: Field Goal Percentage
Free Throw Percentage
3-point Shots Made
Points Scored

Blocked Shots
Turnovers

Please hurry and get the league full. Remember to set your autopick lists ASAP, as the season starts very soon!!!

Please do *NOT* sign up if you're not planning on actively managing your team. Nothing ruins a fantasy league more than people who abandon their teams -- please have respect for your other players and avoid signing up if you don't think you'll be an active manager. Teams idle for more than a month will most likely be disbanded and locked.

I took first in one of the CBS baseball leagues only because 7 out of 10 teams were abandoned!

Just curious how head to head in b-ball works (I've only played it in foosball). Is it a weekly thing? Also, do you make changes within that week? Or do you pick a team that must be your team for that week?

I'd be too afraid of joining a league where someone already had a copy of the official script.

Head to head works the same as the baseball ones do. Each stat is it's own category and you try to win that category against someone else for the week. 10 categories (I added Personal Fouls to make it 10) for a total of 10 points per week in a head to head matchup.

The next week you play someone else for a total of 10 points. It is very tough to sweep all 10 categories for all 10 points.

You make changes daily if you need to and they go into effect for the next night's games.

BTW, if you guys are interested in doing a live draft (and we can get all 10 people on at the same time), let me know.

I chose head to head because it enables more sh**-talking between teams every week.

Furthermore, head-to-head leagues generally tend to remain closer and don't have many runaway victories. Feel free to start a rotisserie league though and I'll add the details to my first post.

can someone tell me the point of auto picks? i mean, isn't the whole point of fantasy sports to draft your team, to see how smart you are, and how well you know the players? I never understood the idea of autopick. Mine as well just roll a dice and see who wins...hehe.
