Rueter is UNDEFEATED AT BUSCH. Hernandez NEVER LOSES IN OCTOBER. Schmidt is BETTER at home. Ortiz is ACE.

GO GIANTS! in 4

I waited in line for tickets last night until today... Got to the ballpark around 2am and I was given ticket #567. Went home to sleep for a couple hours... this morning, at 10am, they started with #1. At around 2:30pm, 14 1/2 hours after I got my ticket, I was able to buy two View Reserved Section 324 (upper deck) tickets for each game (Sat/Sun/Mon) for friends at $55 a piece. Those and the $90 AAA club seats were all that remained. Sheesh... the line was freaking LONG. Bleachers sold out first, after like an hour or something. Haha...

Anyway, was kinda fun waiting outside with all the Giants fans for all those hours.

It was ridiculous with all the scalpers in the front handing the people in the front of the line all this cash to buy tickets for them. Hardly anything left by the time it got to the middle of the line. I think anyone with a number over 650 was pretty much screwed, even if they'd been waiting all morning.

Anyway, that's my ticket buying story.

For a present my wife got me tickets for 1 game per series for the playoffs at Busch and I can't wait to go to tomorrow night's game, especially since there was only 1 home game in the opening series (as I had tickets to the 2nd game, major bummer, but how could I be mad, they swept the diamondbacks)...

I am predicting the Redbirds in 6, maybe 7. This series will probably be better than the World Series, imo. Hope the Cardinals play the Twins (my second favorite team) and I would love to see a rematch of the '87 series.

It's weird, the Giants have the Marlins' clutch pitcher, Hernandez, and the Cardinals have the Marlins' clutch hitter, Renteria, what a nice reunion...

Go Cards! Down with the Giants!

The real question is: Will the Cardinals pitch to Barry? If you were Tony LaRussa, would you pitch to Barry? I would... his postseason numbers SUCK!

Larussa's philsophy should be simple - you don't Bonds beat you.
Whatever it takes - don't let him beat you.

That, and don't let anyone else beat you while you're busy trying to keep Bonds from beating you.

the braves pitched to bonds
and he hit 3 homeruns
of course, two of the homeruns were in losses and in situations that they were meaningless..
but in game 5, bonds was the one that stepped up and killed the braves

But that's not saying a great deal. Hell, even my advanced age, I believe I could step up and kill the Braves pitching.

yea.. your probably right.. its not like the braves starting pitching, middle relief, and closers were #1 in baseball this season

Yeah, and just where are the Braves now - at home watching, as usual.

Well, so much for statistics.

Good news for the Cardinals:

Scott Rolen may be ready to play in game 3.

Woody Williams will start Thursday.

My prediction: The Cardinals in 2. They'll whup up on the Giants so badly in the first two games that the Giants will forfeit the next 2.

I wonder what LaRussa was thinking about opposing teams' pitchers when McGwire was gunning for Maris and people were walking him...

Giants in a close, exciting series. They will pitch around Bonds when they can but look out when they have to pitch to him. This is his season to put all of the playoff demons behind him.

well.. the cards walked him the first time up
but they decided to pitch to him the 2nd plate appearance.. with 2 outs and 2 on, he hit a 2 run triple. and then scored in the next at bat
