Week 6 Fantasy Football Advice/Help Thread

Well,

I'll get it rolling by asking.

Does anyone know the status of Jeremy Shockey for this weekends game? Looks like I might need to grab a TE off the wire.

Thanks.

heh true. So can you help me decide about Warner then, please?

I just noticed I need another kicker.

Any opinions on these as WR...

Josh Reed [email protected]
Ed McCaffrey [email protected]
Kevin Lockett [email protected]
Brandon Stokley [email protected]

BTW, I tried to follow the suggestion to pick up Porter last week... but someone beat me to him.

Also, would anyone consider starting Moe Williams [email protected] over Faulk [email protected] or James [email protected]? Scary that I even have to ask about these.

Hmm, tough call, since you are my opponent this week. I would drop warner, I don't think anybody will touch him right now on waivers. Since we are only a 10 team league, everybody already has a pretty good starter. Of course, since you need a kicker and a TE for 2 weeks (shockey probably won't play, then he has the bye week) you will have to drop someone else.

Heres my question:
Portis vs Mia
Travis Henry @Hou
Moe Williams vs Det

I'm leaning towards portis & henry, but this could be the week the vikes open up the offense.

WR's: (starting 3 WR's)
Moss v Det
J Horn @ Washington
Harrison v Bal
McCaffrey v Mia
Pathon @ Wash

Moss and Harrison I think are givens, a bit torn between Horn or Ed Mac. Pathon only figures into the equation if stallworth is out again for the saints.

Any ideas?
Dave

Go with Portis and Henry at RB. Harrison, Horn, and Moss at WR. Horn is a great play this week IMO - the Saints/Skins game should be a shootout.

McCaffrey is the most talented out of that group, imo. He's got a tough match-up, though. If it wa me, I still start him.

And, no, I would never consider benching Faulk or James for Moe Williams. Regardless of who they are playing.

This should put any idea of starting Moe Williams over those guys to rest:

In a confirmation from an earlier story, the Pioneer Press reports impressed with the recent play of RB Michael Bennett, Vikings HC Mike Tice said he plans to increase Bennett's workload in future games. Tice said Bennett has shown enough improvement running the ball and in his pass protection to earn more playing time. "I like where he's at," Tice said of Bennett. "He's running tougher and harder than I've ever seen him run. There's no more sharing. Michael is starting, and Moe (Williams) will be our third-down back." Bennett gained 91 yards on 15 carries against the Seattle Seahawks and made several solid blocks, an area that was considered one of his weaknesses. Bennett also caught four passes for 44 yards. Bennett leads the team with 50 carries for 212 yards and one touchdown.

No wonder the Vikes can't win.

I'd also drop Warner and let someone else waste a roster spot.

ANd I'd start Horn, Harrison and Moss.

Thanks for the update, that makes me feel a bit better about the RBs. Any suggestions on the WRs?

I don't think anybody would pick him up for a couple of weeks, but you wouldn't get any promises from many people. I wouldn't take him as of now, but if one of my guys got hurt, and warner looked like he was mending quickly...well...
Either way though, you have 4 qb's, gotta drop someone.

Need a third receiver this week:

D. Jackson vs. San Fran or
H. Ward vs. Cinci

Piitsburg D vs. Cinci
San Diego D vs. Denver
Carolina vs. Dallas

Just not sure with the way that Maddox looks more in Burress' direction. Thanks in advance.

Sorry you couldn't get Porter, he was a steal. I'm glad I could suggest him to someone, cuz sadly I didn't pick him up cuz I didn't want two Raider recievers.

Anyway, I think that you start McCaffery. And don't ever sit Faulk or Edge EVER.

Unfortunately for me, I need to start three of them. I've got D. Mason and D. Stallworth both out with injuries. So, I was already a bit soft at WR and things have only got worse.

Does anyone disagree with starting Eddie Mac? He seems to be the only player people have suggested so far.

In new news, my kicker may be out. If so, I'll need to cut someone and it will either be one of these guys or Lamar Gordon (Faulk's backup). Suggestions?

I would probably go with
Josh Reed [email protected]
Ed McCaffrey [email protected]
Kevin Lockett [email protected]

I think baltimore will try to run all day against the colts (and who wouldn't), so stokley wouldn't be a good play. That's my guess anyway.
