Week 5 Fantasy Football Advice Thread

I didn't see a week 5 one yet so I figured I'd start it...

Any news on Joe Horn? I need him to be healthy this week cause R. Moss is on bye and I am thin on WR.

Do you have an IR? If not and you need the roster space, you probably should drop him.

While appreciate everones help last week, it didn't help me win. But thanks anyway. Ideas on who to start this week?

QB - Michael Vick vs. T.B.
QB - Jamie Martin vs. San Fran.
QB - D. Culpepper (BYE)
QB - B. Griese vs. S.D.
RB - M. Faulk vs. San Fran.
RB - R. Williams vs. N.E.
RB - Thomas Jones vs. Car.
RB - Stephen Davis vs. Tenn.
WR - J. Smith vs. Philly
WR- D. Jackson (BYE)
WR - H. Ward vs. N.O.
WR - D. Driver vs. Chi.
WR - D. Stallworth (INJ)
TE - W. Walls vs. Ariz.
TE - M. Pollard vs. Cincy
K - D. Akers vs. Jax.
K- M. Gramatica vs. Atl.
D - Steelers vs. N.O.
D - San Diego vs. Denver

We can start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D. Thanks in advance for your help.

I was thinking
QB - either Vick or Martin
RB - Faulk and Williams
WR - Smith, Ward, and Driver
TE - Pollard
K - Akers
D - San Diego
PLease let me know, and as always thanks for the advice.

I am running low on roster spots and am in need of a WR.

Available:
Eddie Kennison
Antonio Freeman (if he clears Waivers)
Todd Pinkston
Willie Jackson
Johnie morton
Jaquez Green

Possible drops:
Terry Glenn (DTD)
Derrick Mason (Out 4 weeks)
Deshaun Foster (?)
or Take a chance with Glenn playing or sacrifice a D position and hold onto the above for one week.(Have players with bye weeks that gotta keep)

Throw out a trade offer to your division and see if anyone is interested in him first. You never know when someone might believe he'll be back at the end of the season and be willing to give you someone, even if they aren't much, for him. If this gets you no results, then drop him.

Anyone pull the plug on Laveranues Coles yet? Call me crazy but I think the Jets start to wake up a bit with Pennington this week vs the Chiefs defense... What about Kevin Dyson? Available? With Mason out, he's the man... Of course, it'll probably mean more Eddie G but you never know.

In a heartbeat. Faulk is simply a better player. Come playoff time you will want him on your squad.

Re: Week 5 Fantasy Football Advice Thread

You might look at Jerome Pathon, since stallworth is out, and horn might be gimpy if he does play. He was available recently in both my leagues (where I grabbed him already).

Will Jacksonville be able to hold the Philly offense in check, or should I start Cleveland at home against Baltimore?

I'm leaning toward Cleveland.

I think that is the right play. Look at your waiver wire though - Indy (v Cincy) or KC (v Jets) might be good one week pickups.

What's the latest on David BOston? Is he hurt? Or just sucking so far? I may be able to move Moss for Boston.

For my WR, I have: J. Horn, T. Holt, P. Price, and E. Moulds. Do you think because the Rams aren't doing so good that I should bench T. Holt???

Another tough decision is my RB. I am absolutely stacked. I have P. Holmes, R. Williams, E. James, and A. Green. I was thinking holmes and williams this week but James play Cinci so I am not sure. any suggestions???

thanks

Well it is a private league amongst friends and we only found 4 in all who wanted to play so everyone has the best players and there is always someone to pick up. It has forced everyone to a strategy of not so much picking the best players but deciding which of the best players to play.

So any advice?

beckham;

my opinion is that until proven ineffefective you should start priest and ricky every week. green is still sorta hurt, and fumbles a lot. and edge isn't likely to break for a Huge game.

for receivers bench one of the 2 Bills.

my 2 cents.

I don't know if you "should" but I would seriously consider it if it were me. I recently traded Tom Brady for Faulk myself.

This is the NFL, so I don't know about "definately"... but, this is the last I've heard... "Coach Jim Haslett said the rookie's hamstring wasn't torn, but he didn't expect Stallworth to play". So, I've benched him for the week.
