Grammy Award winning singer Peabo Bryson dies at 75
Really sad news. He was one of my favorites.
Aside from Beauty and the Beast and A Whole New World, he had a long catalog of hits
Tonight, I celebrate my love for you
If Ever You’re in my Arms again
Can You Stop the Rain
By the time this night is over
The Closer I get to You.
Through the Fire
Are among the most notable of his career.
I’m sad I never got to see him perform live. He used to do a yearly Christmas concert show locally here in LA, but I unfortunately was never able to go. Bummer.

I cant say i knew his music except for his work on Disney movies. The title song on Beauty and the Beast was so good and "A Whole New World" on Aladdin too. RIP

If you listened to any radio in the 80's then you know or at least have heard the song, If Ever You're In My Arms Again which is one of the greatest, "I want you back" type love songs of all time, in my opinion. It peaked at #10 on the Top 40.
Love that song. Very well written and sung. (Bryson didn't write it and supposedly Richard Marx sang background vocals on it...but Marx didn't write it either, if that is what you are wondering.)
RIP

The male RB singers of my teen heartbreak songs are gone. Luther Vandross, James Ingram, Peabo Bryson.
