Kind of like A Quiet Place the creature look real good.

^ For my money, THE WAILING is still one of the absolute titans of K-horror, even a decade later – and his leading man from that is the star of HOPE as well! – but really all three of his features so far (including THE YELLOW SEA) are excellent. I like his rather bleak outlook on mankind so I'm curious to see if that carries over into this new one. All of his films are long – especially the last two – but never feel it because they’re so jam-packed with intriguing stuff. This one is his longest yet at 160 minutes.

Cool to see the big ‘western’ actors billed under the Korean ones in that new trailer, too.

Three years ago, around the time that HOPE was shot, Na made a short film on behalf of Samsung to showcase the capabilities of the Galaxy phone. Interestingly, it was called FAITH. It’s probably unlikely but it would be pretty funky if this played into HOPE somehow.

Well, I "hope" it's better than the quiet place films, let's try and set the bar at least a little higher.

Looks fucking wild. Guess I need to look into his previous work.
