Pizza Movie (2026, W/D: Kocher/McElhaney) -- S: Gaten Matarazzo -- Hulu/Disney+

College is a trip. Pizza Movie, a wild new comedy from BriTANicK, delivers April 3 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. A shy college student and his reckless roommate set out on a simple mission to grab pizza, but after a strange dose of a mind-bending experimental drug, they’re thrust into a chaotic night of absurd encounters, wild hallucinations, and unexpected revelations that could change their lives forever. The film is produced by American High's Jeremy Garelick and Will Phelps and All Things Comedy's Billy Rosenberg. Jason Zaro, Molle DeBartolo and Max Butler are also producers. Gaten Matarazzo is an executive producer.
The film is written and directed by Brian McElhaney & Nick Kocher. Cast: Gaten Matarazzo, Sean Giambrone, Lulu Wilson, Jack Martin, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Marcus Scribner, Caleb Hearon, Sarah Sherman, Justin Cooley, Kevin Matthew Reyes, Adam Herschman, and Lucas Zelnick.
Was anyone here even aware of this movie? This is Gaten's 1st big project post-Stranger Things. I heard about it on a movie preview blurb from movie critic Grae Drake and she said it's hilarious. It's like one of this drug induced fantasy comedies.
I'll try to check it out
It was just released 2 days ago. I think it got completely lost with The Drama, Super Mario and NCAA basketball this weekend

I saw it was on Hulu but the premise seemed dumb so I ignored it (didn't even look at the trailer). If it's good, please let us know.

My college-aged son watched it with his friends and said it was surprisingly good. We watched it last night as a family and it was great. There’s a sequence we literally had to pause because my wife was laughing just about as hard as I’ve ever seen her laugh (and I am more of a “dumb comedy” fan than she is). Like wiping her eyes and trying to get her breathing back under control.
It throws a LOT at the wall but almost everything lands. It’s really funny, pretty creative and has some wild moments. I recommend it.

Is this a stoner comedy?

So that's the name of the movie. This was filmed locally. I do my laundry at 5:30am every weekend at the laundromat at the start of the film.

I forgot to mention this in the last movie you watched thread. I saw this film recently and I am not a stoner but yes, it is funny. It is also the closest I have been to experiencing what it must be like to be on a trip involving psychedelics, lol.
Great cast, and fun to see actors like Sean Giambrone and Peyton Elizabeth Lee in this film. I thought Lulu Wilson stood out in this film.
Seriously, folks...this movie is nuts.
Also, I have never laughed that hard at a head exploding scene as I did in this film. The # of exploding head scenes was bonkers.
One of my favorite bits was the pizza delivery robot demanding that he get feedback on the pizza delivery order before the robot could close out its delivery ticket, that so worked for me, just a fun running gag through the film.
Defifinitely worth a watch.

I did like the heads exploding scene, although it did gone on a bit long. I didn't care for any of the rest of it.
