15th Annual Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Challenge Discussion Thread
Dates: Sunset on February 27th to sunrise on April 1st. With the 28th falling on Saturday. I didn't see the harm in starting a day early.
We have overlapping challenges this year. The Oscar challenge runs until March 2, so any action/adventure/crime/mystery flicks that were nominated or won Oscars will count as double credit for both challenges during those 2 days. Also, the B-Movie/Exploitation Challenge begins at dusk on March 30th so any action/adventure movies that also qualify for the April challenge will count as double credit. Rules: Any film or TV show listed on IMDB/AllMovie with a genre of action, adventure, crime, or mystery counts for this challenge. You can use any counting method you choose.

Thanks for running this shadokitty. I have a bunch of Oscar overlap films I've been saving for this.

Just a reminder that the challenge starts tonight at Sunset wherever you are. I've got quite a bit to check out. Plus some movies that I have been saving for double credit for the Oscar Challenge.
If I don't forget, I even have a movie that would count for double credit with the Musical Challenge. Heavy Metal . The original.

I started a timeline view of the Star Wars movies last week sometime. With this challenge coming up, I felt like holding out for double credit was more efficient.
Given that, my first official watch of the challenge was Attack of the Clones.
I also started a Star Trek series and movie watch last night after all the Voyager discussion that I have seen with the release of the video game recently.

Someone told me to check out Excalibur. Watched the trailer and didn’t look like it was for me however I grabbed the arrow release anyway on impulse and wow what a fun movie was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did

^ Bit of a latecomer to Excalibur myself. I had heard about it all through high school but never saw it until getting the VHS at the library once. Full of highs and lows. Just an all around awesome retelling of the King Arthur legend.

Yeah, I didn't watch Excalibur till the DVD era. It's probably the best King Arthur movie, but I'm an Arthurian fan, and I dunno if any of them has really hit for me. Richard Gere is terrible in First Night, and the 2004 and 2017 ones kinda run together for me. Maybe the answer is Holy Grail lol.

Two days remaining. I hope people managed to get some good watches in. I'm happy that I was at least able to hit 50 over the weekend.
So anything else right now is gravy.
With all of the talk of the new Snape, yesterday I decided to revisit the Harry Potter movies and watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The Extended Edition. Though other than the scene with the python, I was not sure what other scenes were longer.
