Sanford and Son was on TV before I was born. But I watched the reruns because my parents were big fans of the show. I think he was the last main living character of the snow. RIP "Big Dummy".

I watched Sanford and Son occasionally in repeats as a kid, but that was a super long time ago. It was a little before my time. I have no memories of it.

Looks like the vast majority of the original cast is now deceased.

Oh man, that sucks. I loved Sanford and Son when I was a kid, I watched it all the time, Redd Foxx was awesome, and Demond was perfect as his straight man. I'm embarrassed to admit that I thought his name was "Desmond". D'oh! And Demond was his middle name, his first name was Grady, named after his father, who was the namesake for the "Grady" character on the show.

Speaking of, still cracks me up that Grady (the character) seems like he was born 100 years old, but Whitman Mayo was only in his mid-40s during the show. Also, my buddies and I still bust out “That’s a good one, Fred” on occasion (usually ironically).
