How many different formats have you seen a single film in?
Since I’ve been viewing films for far longer than most of you, I’ve had the opportunity to see many of my favorite movies in a variety of formats. On the other hand, there are newer formats that I only use for newer films and not for old favorites as well as short-lived formats I’ve never tried and probably never will.
My question is this: “How many different formats have you seen a single film in?”
I have seen two films, THE SEARCHERS (1956) and IT’S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD (1963) in seven different formats:
35mm film
16mm film
Broadcast television
Cable television
VHS
DVD
Blu-ray
How many other formats can one see them in? I know of digital files and streaming services. As for physical media, I know of laserdiscs and…some others that have been mentioned here that I can’t recall that have come and gone. Also, there’s something I’ve never experienced called UHD. Is that different from Blu-ray?
Thanks.

Slight side-bar on your topic here, I’ve noticed that you can see some films in a huge number of formats in the theaters now. Normal, open caption, re-issues, 3D, IMAX, IMAX 3D, 4DX, RPX, open caption on some of those, different languages on some of those, and I’m sure others.
