Dick Van Dyke Turns 100!
One of my all time favorite TV shows is The Dick Van Dyke Show. BRILLIANT show. Great, timeless writing and phenomenal acting made the show one of the all time greats. Plus, it was also groundbreaking, focusing on both the home and workplace equally, and having writing that was actually sophisticated and was written with intelligence. Sadly, all but two of the cast members are gone, but Dick is still with us at 100 years old! (The only other cast member still alive is Larry Mathews, who played Rob's son, Richie.)
Dick is an amazingly talented performer, and it's great to see him hit 100!

One of my favourites, as well (the actor and the Dick Van Dyke show)!
So happy to see him reach this milestone.

Just saw this online and had no idea this happened. At 8:00 PM on 12/13, Dick Van Dyke's actual 100th birthday, CBS airs "A Town Hall with Erika Kirk". Followed by two back to back episodes of "48 Hours". Shame on you CBS.

I remember watching The Dick Van Dyke show in syndication all the time when I was a kid back in the 70s. Even by that point the show seemed "old" and it's fantastic that all the decades later, he's still with us and seems to be in good health, at 100!
Oh, and fuck CBS.

No, but TCM ran a nice marathon of his movies yesterday. I saw Mary Poppins for the first time in at least 50 years and was impressed by the visuals especially combining live action with animation. Back in the day, my parents took us to a drive in (Remember those?) to see the movie.

Same! WTTG Channel 5 here in D.C. played "The Dick Van Dyke Show" Monday-Fridays during the 70's. I watched it again a few years ago when it was streaming on either Hulu or Amazon. And it felt as fresh as it did when I first saw it. Several critics even include it in the top 10 comedies of all-time.
And yes, fuck CBS.

I'm so glad 2025 gave us this and didn't pull a Betty White on us.
As cheesy as it is I do love the Dick Van Dyke and Coldplay music video he released last year.

I've never gotten around to watching my Dick Van Dyke Show discs, but I just got them in digital thinking that might be more convenient.

I read an article where they asked him how he stayed so healthy at his age. Aside from the expected exercise and good diet comments, he said that singing every day and having a 54-year-old wife were also quite important. I guess I'll have to sing extra hard to make up for my wife's age.

I've also heard him quip that "If I had known I'd live this long I'd have taken better care of myself."
What a national treasure.

Seriously, Perry? A simple online search would corroborate the same information. Here's just one.
