Two more days until Season 5 Volume 1 drops! Not sure how quickly I'll get to see all four episodes because of family stuff for Thanksgiving, but I'm going to try to watch at least the first (and maybe second) Wednesday night. I just finished rewatching season 4 last night.
This Wednesday (11/26) at 7pm Central Time is the official release time.

ETA: Thank you to the mod for creating this thread!

Finished episode 1 last night. I wanted to watch episode 2 after, but was told no.
Solid opening. They did a great job reintroducing and setting up the what’s going on and where everybody is at. Clearly some time passed since the end of season 4.
I was confused by some of the significance of the time jumping, but I’m sure it will come into play later.
Loved Robyn’s new job. She may be the best addition to the entire show.
I will say there was a lot of talk by the characters of wrapping things up. Definitely a sense of waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop or for things to get worse before they get better.
On the fun side, I thought I caught a few BTTF references! When Dustin was getting into a hall fight seemed the tried to recreate the Marty punch stance when he’s going at if with Biff in the cafeteria. Shortly after there was a snippet of a poster in the halls that was giving off Enchantment Under the Sea vibes.

i was really addicted to watching ST5 and before I knew it, I had finished two eps and 2 hours on the elliptical machine. This season is off to a great start. Showing us the demigorgons and Vecna so up close and up front. I guess no point in holding back at this point. great stuff. 1 more ep left for me in this batch. Surprised Linda Hamilton was just shoved into the credits. I know she hasn't had a major role as of yet, but it's Linda Hamilton. She should have at least gotten "and Linda Hamilton". She is definitely looking a little haggard now.

I stayed up way too late and watched eps 1 and 2 last night, starting about 1 am. I was going to just watch the first episode, but after it ended the way it did, I had to keep going. 😮
It's off to a good start so far. Plenty of movie references. I also liked the Wrinkle in Time usage--I loved those books when I was a kid.
My favorite moment was THAT scene with Karen--very Ripley of her, very badass. That whole sequence in the house was great stuff.
I liked Jonathan calling Steve out on trying to impress Nancy. Steve's response kinda cut to the bone, though.

I bailed on Season 2 … convince me I should go back.
I don’t remember why. I remember loving season 1.

Through three episodes, so far pretty good...a bit disappointed how much they seemed to just reset the finale from last season.

I started ep 1 and got halfway into 2 last night but I was falling asleep so I stopped. Got to 1/4 into ep 4 and stopped due to Thanksgiving stuff but this is definitely fun stuff. I'm having more fun than last season. The Turnbow Trap was an awesome sequence, loved how the whole team worked together. These episodes, while longer than your typical show, are really flying by.

I just watched episode 1. Good stuff. I'll probably take my time on this season, even with the episodes divided up.

I just finished episode 3, great stuff! I fist-pumped at the end.
That was very cool. I like that Mike got some good licks in.
It's been a long day, but I'm going to try to watch ep 4 later tonight if I can stay awake.

Is it me or is David Harbour delivering his lines differently? He seems to be speaking differently than I remember.
That was certainly a reveal at the end of Ep3.
Holy shit the end of Ep4!
Episodes were awesome!

Just finished the first four episodes, great stuff! My teenaged daughter is so hooked and wants to watch the next batch when they drop on Christmas Day. Ummm, we're a bit busy that day, how about the 26th? Kids...

Finished the block. Some solid events, but didn’t really feel like a cliffhanger per se.
Glad the lab story closes (?) a long simmering plot thread.
Im confused re: the wall inside the Upside Down. Dustin measured and calculated as a circle. However, they’re outside the wall or inside it?
Also, where is Vecna within - especially as it relates a to Holly. Per all exposition (non-spoilers) a lot of things are memories. So there’s a third “place”?
I still very much like the D&D angle in that various groups that typically end up uniting at the end. However, it feels like they have too many balls in the air so groups go chunks without screen time.
Also, is there some Vecna grand plan I’ve forgotten about. Is his goal to take over real world or just cause issues and play in his upside down sandbox?

- our normal world, a physical place
- the Upside Down - also a physical place. From previous seasons, it appears the Upside Down--or at least the "Hawkins" part of the Upside Down--was created on the day that little Will was initially abducted. That was also the day that Eleven was at Hawkins Lab in her sensory deprivation tank and projecting her consciousness into the black void place and she saw the demogorgon and touched it and then freaked out and that seemed to open/reopen the gate in the Lab. Now, did El create the Upside Down Hawkins in that moment, or did Will when he was abducted, or did Vecna/Henry do it? I don't know
- Dimension X - this is where Henry/001/future-Vecna goes when little Eleven does her screamy-handy thing to him in the flashback episodes in season 4, right after Henry killed all the other lab kids. This is a real physical place. How it relates to the Upside Down and/or the real world is not clear.
- the black void - not a physical place, some kind of psychic plane that El goes when she does her remote viewing thing.
- Vecna's "mind lair" - the red-tinted place where he brought his victims' consciousness before killing them in season 4. Max escapes from this place (with the help of Kate Bush's song) and then we see both Max and Eleven in this place at the end of season 4 when Eleven is trying to save Max. This is not a physical place, as Vecna's body was still in the Upside Down (in the Creel house) during these events, and his victims' bodies were still in the real world.
- Memories - we've seen characters going into memories, like Eleven seeing Billy's memories, and Eleven, Max, and Vecna in Max's memories in season 4. Holly and Max seem to mentally be in Vecna's mind somewhere. We know Max's body is in the real world in the hospital in Hawkins, but Holly was taken by the demogorgon to Vecna so her physical body is presumably somewhere in the Upside Down wherever Vecna is taking the other kids he abducted--perhaps at Hawkins Lab?
Also, is there some Vecna grand plan I’ve forgotten about. Is his goal to take over real world or just cause issues and play in his upside down sandbox?
