Jerry Beck on the history of anime distribution in the U.S.

This excellent interview with Jerry Beck on the AnimEigo YouTube channel covers unsung chapters of the history of anime distribution in the U.S. and the early years of Streamline Pictures. I remember some of it as it happened, including attendance at theatrical screenings in New York of PHOENIX 2772, AKIRA and LAPUTA: CASTLE IN THE SKY in the 1980s, all of which he covers, but some of the earlier screenings at comic conventions went under my radar at the time, so it’s quite an eye-opener. How did I miss this? And I was already a fan of Beck at that time from the 1981 publication of “The Warner Brothers Cartoons” from Scarecrow Press.
