Alien: Earth (S1E07) -- "Emergence" -- 9/16/25 -- (FX, H, D+)

FX's Alien: Earth

Episode Descriptions

Emergence

107 9/16/25 Hulu: 8 p.m. ET FX: 8 p.m. ET / PT

An escape plan is hatched leading to a breaking of factions, betrayals, and a shocking confrontation. Written by Noah Hawley and Maria Melnik; Directed by Dana Gonzales.

Nielsen just released their streaming data from when episode 1 and 2 premiered last month

And I guess nobody is watching, because the 2 episodes didn't even register in the top 10. Or are people are waiting to watch to binge all 8 episodes.? Or maybe some people are just burned out trying to keep up with everything? And this is a high quality series from a production stand point.

You would think people were salivating for an Alien TV series and would have gobbled this up.

Not my list. It's what most people are watching and apparently most aren't watching Alien Earth.

It appears "popular TV" isn't actually watched, it is thrown on to raise people's kids for them.

I dunno who else is/isn't watching, but I certainly am. I enjoyed the heck out of this episode, and it was over way too soon. I look forward to the finale.

Has this been renewed for a second season?

Is this the first time seeing a xenomorph in full daylight? I can see why it's mostly shot in the dark. I wonder who Boy will use to host T Oscellus. Love that it has an attitude. When it dropped the shit for the number in pi.

I have a theory that A LOT of streaming numbers are based on autoplay.

For a second there, I thought he was gonna use his butler/assistant. But I am also not sure if the guy is a synth. Having a name like Atom Eins doesn't make me think he's human either.

Loved it when Nibs avenged Mr. Strawberry. And am really pissed at pre-serum Steve Rogers.

So, based on the graveyard scene, anyone else fully convinced this show concludes with a post-Alan Moore Swamp Thing type reveal that the hybrids are not children in synthetic bodies, but synthetics that think they are children?

Really exciting episode that ended waaaayyy too quickly. My only beef was the group of soldiers standing there on the dock watching the fight and doing nothing.

How would this explain the scene when the brother tests Wendy to find out if it really is Marcy?

If it concludes that a tech trillionaire is lying about their technology I will forgive the dumb anti safety procedures that keep killing characters. That’s a plot I’d write.

My first thought was Wendy’s brother.

I'm surprised a thread was never started on Hunting Wives. Guns and girl-on-girl action. Unless it's in Politics

I’ve streamed this series over the last few days and I’m loving it. I finally finished Legion, and it seemed fitting to continue with Noah Hawley’s new show.

I’ve assumed these were machines that thought they were children since the beginning, it’s essentially like The Great Danton in The Prestige; a near perfect copy of their personalities is continuing, but the original is long gone.

Why does Wendy want to leave all of a sudden? Just because she knows the flies can kill them? She seemed very hesitant to leave last week. Now she's straight massacring tons of people to get to the boat. If the trap wasn't there for them, would she have left, leaving her Xeno friend to get killed or captured?

I thought her finding out they can reset your memories really pissed her off and now she wants to get away.

Still seems like a big jump from being happy with the place to literally murdering 10+ people just to get off the island, while leaving a few of the other hybrids behind. Not to mention her new bestie, Xeno.

I get that the idea is that she's losing her humanity, but I think the show could have done a better job showing the transition. Rather than a complete 180 within an episode or two. Maybe by having her show even a little doubt earlier on would have helped.

I think it's her knowing that she can die, like Tootles. She even says "we're premium" as if she can't die but the flies proved that wrong.

The same way it worked in Swamp Thing. Memories were transferred, but those simply served to make Swamp Thing erroneously believe he was once human. There was no transference of a soul or consciousness. Just enough data to make a convincing facsimile.
