Last Samurai Standing (Netflix series) -- Premieres 11/13/25
A High-Stakes Battle Royale Set in the Meiji Era
Set in the late 19th century during the Meiji period, Last Samurai Standing thrusts viewers into a relentless life-and-death game. At nightfall, 292 warriors - including lead character Shujiro Saga (Junichi Okada) - gather at Kyoto's Tenryuji Temple, each lured by the promise of a massive cash prize. Each donning a single wooden tag, participants must steal the tags of their rivals and race to Tokyo to claim victory. As the signal sounds, the temple erupts into chaos, launching a brutal fight for survival where only one can stand victorious.

6 episodes, premieres in November
Looks awesome from that footage.
A few years ago, Netflix dropped a show called "House of Ninjas" but it got lukewarm response here. I recall some of you thought it was really boring. Hopefully this one is good. I would love to see more support for Asian series and movies.

I hope this is nothing like House of Ninjas. That show was garbage.

On the one hand, I had a feeling a certain major event in episode 2 would play out exactly as it did. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised they actually went there so early. Any other show would have pulled a Deus Ex Machina to get out of that particular corner, deferring the obvious resolution to an episode closer to the season finale. Really raises the stakes for this show.

I just finished Episode 4. I can't say I was the least bit surprised by the identity of the Organizer, but I have been thoroughly enjoying this show regardless.

I guess I'm the only one who watched this. I loved it and there were some really neat twists at the end. The fight choreography was fantastic. There were times I couldn't help but think the new Highlander movie will need to really kick things up a notch, because these fights were intense and very flashy towards the end.
EDIT: I wanted to point out that the series lead, Junichi Okada, is also the action choreographer. He staged some excellent fights throughout the series.
I hope Netflix is only distributing this show, because I'd hate for it to fall prey to their typical cancellations.

Been enjoying this also, sure there's some predictability, but it's been entertaining.
There was a moment because it looked like they shot in on their own version of the Volume that it took me out of it.
Definitely some great action sequences. Kind of an open world Samurai Squid Games. Once it has narrowed the field down to the group we're tracking it ends this chapter. 6 episodes.
