I still need to watch episode eight. My sister-in-law stayed with us last weekend and I’ve been busy so figured I’d watch two back to back tomorrow.

Good Damn RIP Angel. But all signs were leading to his doom. Zayas had a good run playing him.

Fantastic episode with so much tension. And then it ends with Mad world playing ? Whew.

How the heck did Angel make Captain again? He sees the Gala photo of Prater but has to double check his phone to see if its the same gray bearded little person in a tailored suit. Also apparently didn't realize how much more dangerous and deranged Prater is from that rant, the vault full of serial killer mementos or having him trussed up for slaughter. Shoulda gone back to Miami amigo.

I’m loving this whole season. Granted it’s far-fetched at times, but just when you think Dexter is done for, there’s always an out.

To be fair that's just the show spoon feeding everything to the audience as usual. Anything that was ever remotely established once has to be blatantly shown again, and Angel doesn't have any ghosts to talk to so we have to see him double checking. I'm surprised he didn't zoom in.

But as for his stupidity, that's the evidence that he decides is not worth showing to the cops upon realizing? When the picture is right there in the police station?

Jamie Chung is the host and she’s talking to Scott Reynolds, who is one of the producers and also writer of this episode. Some good stuff.

The last 2-3 episodes Angel has been a grade A fucking moron. Kinda cringe worthy actually. Still I was kind of sad when he bought it.

Even going back to the original run, Angel was always kind of... clueless. Nice guy, but far from the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I'm actually kind of surprised he was able to come to the conclusion that Dexter was the Bay Harbor Butcher.

Miami Metro is getting decimated from the original show. Only Dexter, Vince and Quinn are still alive.

I could see Vincent succumbing to autoerotic asphixiation, so he might not be around, either.

Quinn still alive while being essentially useless his entire tenure. Luckiest character within Dexter’s periphery.

Miami metro had some of the worst cops, which explains why Dexter was able to operate for so long there while not going detected.

I remember that most of the other plot lines involving the other characters basically being hook ups within the squad room.

Damn what an episode. Unfortunately I had Batista’s death spoiled by social media/YouTube.

I understand he wasn’t just going to drop things with Dexter, but had he not tried to take him out there was a chance that Dexter would have taken care of Prater/Charley. Also pretty heartbreaking to hear his last words be “fuck you” to Dexter.

Crazy episode and I have no idea how this will end.

Another great episode this week to a season that may arguably be its best. Saw this week's episode was the highest rated in franchise history (at least on IMDb). Looks like a pirated copy of the finale snuck its way online the other day. Not going to bother with that - can't wait for Friday!

What an incredible episode / season. Batista's last words being Dexter Morgan Fuck You is ice cold. I'm hyped for the finale. Hope it doesnt get spoiled.

While I really enjoyed this episode and how it played out (and the whole season at large) Im unsure what a satisfying end game can be now. Dexter being found out and extradited back to Miami to face trial was the most logical way for the series to play out. But now all that's left from the OG Miami Metro are Quinn & Masuka. Not real a satisfying team to bring him in.

This writing team has earned my trust tho so Im sure they have a good plan in place.

Episode 10 is going to be wild. Harrison working at the gala. Batista's dead body and Dexter trapped in the vault with hundreds of cops in the mansion as well. Charlie being on the prowl. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

I just blasted through this season and finished this episode.

So many things I could nitpick about previous episodes but this is better than the past several years of Dexter. It's breathed new life into the series. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going for the finale and into S2.
