Thank you Internet Brands
There is currently a full-scale rebellion on Imgur against their corporate owner Medialab. Medialab bought the site a few years ago, and have since fired the paid staff and all the volunteer mods. They no longer respond to user questions or complaints. They remove posts at random, and ban respected posters for no given reason. The last straw was that the website broke last weekend, and no one responded to bug reports or fixed the problem.
So thank you Internet Brands for leaving our little forum alone instead of trying to maximize profits at the expense of the user base.

I would comment something but this isn't Politics.
So I will join Nick to give thanks.

Yeah, glad to see a company realize that smaller internet neighborhoods like ours occupy an important part of the whole online ecosystem.

That is partly why I left Facebook. The entire site is run by an algorithm. They could care less how their users feel. I am happy to post here, where human beings are available for assistance. Thank you Internet Brands!

But luckily, DVDTalk is small enough with a minor enough profit that nobody focuses on it too much. I also generally try to right the ship wherever possible on my sites.

I’m lost at what exactly is the context of the conflict in the Op. Who are those companies supposed to be?

Re: Thank you Internet Brands
I spend so much time on DVDTalk that I actually quit using an ad blocker awhile back to hopefully support the site a little more. Don't know if it helps but just trying to do what I can to keep it around.

I know some of you have been here since the beginning, but after 15 years I'm glad to call DVDTalk my home away from home.
