I'm liking this, though not quite as much as I expected to. The first two episodes left me slightly disappointed, though they had a lot going for them in terms of production value and the acting was solid across the board. This episode felt like a step in the right direction as some of the characters got more established, but then the end was a letdown. Wendy seeming to have a psychic link to the xenomorphs came off as kind of stupid. The idea of gestating a xenomorph tadpole in a human lung was clever, but choosing to take Hermit's lung to do it didn't make a lot of sense. Surely Prodigy could've acquired a lung from a corpse or basically anyone else other than their prize research project's injured brother. That said, the characters are all quite well drawn and acted and I'm curious to see where they go with things.

Prodigy kid (or, at least the guy who works for him) will know Morrow was talking to the hybrid kid/guy, right? Since we were told not long before that they record everything the hybrids see and hear?

Since Morrow seems to have 'hacked' him to enable them to communicate, they could probably explain away Prodigy not recording their interaction.

I keep wanting to call Nibs "Rhonda Weasley"
So Morrow and crew were out looking for specimens for 65 years?

Yeah, the 65 year gap can be explained away via cryosleep. I must assume that the chaos on the ship occurred almost immediately upon reawakening for him to be unaware of the current date.

Watched all three last night. Like watching a movie. I like that each episode started immediately after last one ended. Didn't feel bloated down with crap we don't need. Things happen at a pretty fast clip.
The brother's lung. Corporation seems evil enough they would have just wheeled an egg into the brother's room and see what happened. Can eggs detect if a host is injured or sick and not impregnate in favor of healthy hosts? You'd think they want a healthy lung for their experiment. Maybe they don't want to piss off their prize project.
As to the security officerandroid not knowing it's been 65 years. He had to know that. At the very beginning they were about 10 months out from Earth before going back into cryosleep. Could be he hadn't experienced human aging before. Humans on the ship didn't age. His talk with the gal in charge was his first encounter with the concept of human aging/immortality. He wasn't so much surprised it had been 65 years, but surprised that the grandmother who had sent him on the mission had aged and died.
There's sure to be a flashback to what happened on the ship. It looked to me the hosts had been impregnated while asleep. The alien broke out of the cryo capsule. Not all were infected. The others woke up as usual with a few aliens running around. There should have been 2-3 more aliens running around. What happened to them?
What did the security officer from the ship think he was going to do with the alien he wrapped in the cocoon? Besides it waking up real quick. I;m assuming he was going to call in a pickup from the rival corp. He'll probably use his connection to the kid to get the kid to get him into the research facility. Since it's on an island, once inside, call in a squad of commandos from the rival corp. End up with a battle between two forces inside the facility with aliens running loose.
I still don't see the value of the aliens. You can't control them. What is the practical application? Try and transfer human consciousness into one?

I think the kid just sees them all as potential breakthroughs that will get him more power. Like applying the xeno's hive communication to other applications. Not so much that he wants them as weapons.

The original movie is really scary. I mean I’ve seen it numerous times, but watching now and it really is a terrifying movie. Anyone else doing a marathon? I’m doing the core 4 and then Covenant and Romulus. Don’t feel like Prometheus, but who knows.

It's a parasite, so it needs a living host to gestate. A lung from a corpse presumably wouldn't work and what other living person could they use for that? I got the impression that they used their advanced technology to keep the lung connected to Hermit's body, but isolated in the tank. I might be wrong about that though.

Going to ride this out, but I’m just not feeling it.
Approaching it as a sci-fi show, not Alien related.
Eyeball squid, Upside-down Audrey, legged leeches, xenomorphs … what is the 5th creature?

I'm really digging this so far. Of course I'm a big fan of the franchise, so that's not especially surprising.
Any guesses yet as to why Wendy has her connection with the xenomorph? There's a simple explanation but it doesn't line up with what we currently know about the different companies are their knowledge of the xenomorphs.
