Dexter: Resurrection - Cats and Mouse (S1E6) - 8/8/25

As Dexter closes in on a narcissistic murderer, Harrison faces a crisis of identity while trying to find his place in the world. Meanwhile, Batista pursues the connection between the Bay Harbor Butcher and the recent killings in NYC.

Clearly Gemini 2 knew his brother was visiting Dexter and must be wondering why he disappeared.

This season is so damn good so far. Prime Dexter where the show rackets up the tension and I literally feel nervous watching.

Dexter killing in his apartment. Such a bad idea. I was on pins and needles that entire scene. I figured he wouldn’t be caught but incredibly dumb thing of him to have done to act on impulse like that.

I read that Gemini had a twin by accident so the ending didn’t surprise me. Question is what happens next? When will Prater and the rest start piecing things together?

Also, Batista may have some leads to follow but as of now he really has nothing concrete on Dexter. Especially now that Mia is dead, and seeing the preview for next week’s episode.

Also it bugs me a bit how he keeps talking about how we all have this one case.. like prior to Angela calling him he never questioned the Bay Harbor Butcher case.

I can understand that he was suspect when Angela named Dexter and how he was alive but it’s silly to me for him to act as though he’s always suspected someone else.

So the detectives didn't ask Mia's almost-victim about the screaming and her mentioning she was Lady Vengeance - to confirm with what the neighbor (ie. Dexter) called in?
They also didn't try to find which neighbor called 911 to get confirmation on the story - ya know, to build a more solid case against Mia?
Pretty sloppy police work.

And at this point, Batista suspects Dexter framed Mia - so I hope he goes/suggest they try to retrace Mia's last few days and get security footage - which could show her with Dexter (ie. bowling alley/bar).

One thing that has bugged me, Dexter is going by his real name, correct (apartment, job, etc)? It would take almost no effort for Batista to find him. Why has it been made to seem like Dexter is in the wind?

But yes, another really strong episode. I did not see the Gemini twist coming which is something I'm usually pretty good about spotting. That was really well done.
[Dexter] Who did you leave the message for?
[Gemini Killer] Myself.

And we are left to wonder if Dexter had his usual convo before dispatching his victim rather than 'cutting' it short would he have learned about the twin.

This is one thing that is going make Dexter problematic going forward: security cameras. These days, there are security cameras pointed nearly every square inch of public space. Has to make it difficult to be a serial killer.

I didn't see the twin twist, but I knew Gemini was lying when he said he left the message for himself. It didn't make sense.
And I'm assuming that the Gemini who left the bookmark at the bookstore isn't the same Gemini who saw Dexter grabbing the bookmark - which makes ask why they're dressed the exact same (other than to throw the audience off and reveal the twist).

I'm guessing no one knows there were twins. Dexter killed the one who left the bookmark, and the one that got on the helicopter has no idea it was left and taken by Dexter because he never saw it. He also would have no idea his twin is dead. When the dead one said he left the bookmark for himself to me it alluded to them both living life as a single serial killer - essentially the same person. They used the dead drop to contact each other to help avoid this being discovered.

I saw it the other way.
Dexter waited/followed Gemini1 - as they were just at Praters... otherwise, how would he know where Gemini1 was to start following him?

Then at the bookstore, Gemini1 leaves the bookmark (which Dexter saw) for Gemini2 and leaves. Gemini2 comes to the bookstore to look for the his next message/bookmark but sees Dexter (who took the bookmark) and then leaves when Dexter almost sees him. But he's waiting outside the bookstore for Dexter so he can follow him home. Dexter comes home, opens the door and before he can go inside, he's asked to help with the ice - in which he does while leaving his door wide open for Gemini2 to go inside ahead of Dexter. Dexter goes back to his apartment and sees Gemini2 already there. Gemini2 pretends he left the bookmark (because he knows Dexter saw Gemini1 leave it) and just said he left it for "himself" (he was being cute and truthful - because it really was left for him/Gemini2).

Dexter kills Gemini2, and the next day Gemini1 is at the helicopter not knowing his brother is dead.

I'm sure there are people out there who know there are twins (without knowing them being serial killers), but to Prater and everyone else - they have no idea... which seems kind of dumb with the resources they have.

Probably my least favorite of the season so far. Too much landlord stuff. Also seems like they're spinning their wheels knowing what to do with Harrison. The Gemini twist was cool though.

Re: Dexter: Resurrection - Cats and Mouse (S1E6) - 8/8/25

A little slower episode this week. Mia getting got in prison was expected. Now they'll need to find some new avenue to pursue Dexter.

I suspected there was going to be some twin aspect to Gemini and I like how it played out a lot. Him leaving himself a note as a dead drop and all that. I suspect the one that left the note is the one still alive and that the twin coming to find the drop is the one that followed Dexter.

Dexter making the kill in his apartment was a tense scene when Blessings came in. Pretty sloppy of him tho. The ending sets us up for a bonkers episode 7.
