Batman & Batman Returns (1989/1992, D: Burton) -- S: Keaton -- Coming to Dolby Cinema
One night only showing on August 25th.
Both movies were remastered in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Cinema
It's not a big marathon. It's showing at 2 separate times. 7pm for Batman and 10pm for Returns. You can get tickets for both if you can stay that late.
From Variety:
I am available, but I will probably do just the original. A-List is accepted for these showings.
If you want to just talk about these movies, then that's fine. I found no other threads about them.
So anyone interested?

From Variety:
Tim Burton‘s iconic “Batman” (1989) and “Batman Returns” (1992) are getting the premium treatment, returning to theaters for a one-night engagement on Aug. 25 exclusively at Dolby Cinema locations.
The remastered versions will play at over 160 Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres locations across the U.S. This marks the first time both films will be presented in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
The enhanced presentation promises to showcase Burton’s gothic vision of Gotham City with unprecedented clarity. Dolby Vision will deliver deeper blacks, sharper contrast and more vivid colors, while Dolby Atmos will create a multi-dimensional sound experience that envelops audiences in everything from the Batwing’s engines to Danny Elfman’s celebrated score.
“I hadn’t watched these films since I made them, and seeing them again with this level of clarity, beauty, color, and sound felt really new and exciting,” Burton said. “Dolby Atmos and Vision brought it all to life in a fresh way.”
The screenings carry particular significance for Dolby’s legacy in cinema. “Batman Returns” made history in 1992 as the first feature film presented in Dolby Digital, the revolutionary audio technology that became synonymous with surround sound in theaters.
“‘Batman’ and ‘Batman Returns’ remain seminal films in the history of the super hero genre,” said Michelle Maddalena, VP of global content and industry relations at Dolby. “The new presentation of these films in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos honors Tim Burton’s bold creativity while showcasing how far audio and image technology have evolved.”
Jeff Goldstein, president of global distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, added: “Tim Burton’s acclaimed ‘Batman’ films deliver a dark, iconic vision of Gotham City that continues to influence the modern super hero genre today. With their advancements over the past decades, Dolby now transforms these beloved classics into completely new cinematic experiences through Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, delivering unprecedented visual and audio fidelity.”

And got my ticket
In Summer 1989, I was 15 and had no money. It's going to awesome seeing this on the big screen for the 1st time.
Screw my 4K digital, this is the way.

Kind of a random re-release. I’d like to see them both on the big screen, but unfortunately no AMC nearby.
It would be nice if WB would release the director’s edition of Batman Forever since this is the 30th Anniversary of that film.

So, does this mean we'll eventually get a re-remastered 4K UHD BD release of both movies that removes all the teal from the current discs?

Got my ticket for Batman. I'd like to do them both but BR is going past my bedtime. I own them both on 4K disc and they already look and sound great. I saw the first one back on opening weekend in '89. Catching it in Dolby Cinema should be legit.

Picked up a ticket for Batman. I'll probably do both, but don't want to tie up another A-List reservation slot until I figure out next weekend's movies

My dirty little movie secret is I’ve never really cared for the Burton/Kearon Batman movies.
I remember seeing it in the theater in 1989 and wasn’t particularly enthralled with it then or on subsequent viewings over the years at home. I don’t know. I can’t really place my finger on why I don’t particularly care for them but I don’t.

I think if they expected people to watch the second one, they would've started at 6, not 7.

As usual, the AMC here won't be taking part.

I was looking ahead to prep my A-List options for the next couple weeks and saw that they are bringing back Batman and Batman returns on labor day Monday at my local AMC, this time at 4pm and 7pm. So I can checkout Batman on 8/25, then Batman Returns on 9/1, both at 7pm in Dolby Cinema.

So they added a Batman '89 screening next Monday at 4pm. I'm off because that's Labor Day, so now I can catch them both same day as a double feature. Canceled my Batman standalone for tonight showing.

Moving up the start times means this is the first time anyone has sort of followed my advice!

Was great to see on a big screen! The picture was incredible! The audio only benefited towards the end.

Watched the movie in a full house tonight. The Dolby trailer just before the movie was ear blisteringly loud, with bass that shook my body, but the movie was at the usual regular loud volume. Not much surround, perhaps fuller music, and an occasional odd sound effect from a side surround like a clock ticking or a typewriter clicking or some single sound placed there. Looking around at the audience, most were born well after the movie was released, so it's cool that they wanted to see an old time Batman movie with its cheesy special effects.. I'll probably catch the second movie on labor day, not sure how many in the theater were sticking around for Batman Returns starting I guess around 9:30pm once the trailers finish.

I just got back from my showing. I was super tired from working at 2am this morning, but I powered through.
It was great to finally watch this on the big screen for the first time. Great picture and sound. My showing was almost full as well.
Kim Basinger was so gorgeous back then. She and Keaton had really good chemistry.
It had been at least 25 plus years since I saw this from start to finish. So it did feel pretty fresh revisiting it after a long time.
There was no way I was going to make it through a double feature tonight. I’m curious how much of my audience stayed for Batman Returns.
