I may end up enjoying this show better than the main series. The trailer looks really promising.

I didn't watch season 1, when it was released, two years ago, although I love The Boys, but I didn't really want to watch a "teen" spin off. I changed my mind this week and binged the season in 3 days. It's actually a good show and I'm happy I don't have to wait for two years.

No comments yet? I kinda dislike when they drop three episodes at once, since it feels like I can't fully comment until I've seen all 3. So far I've just watched 1 and the spoiler preview for the season

Interesting.. is that body in the hyperbaric chamber Golden Boy? So Cipher wouldn't need compound V, he's a natural super like Ryan.

I think the bathroom scene permanently traumatized me...

Finally caught up.
I know these are kids and maybe that's intentional, but man they are just really really stupid. From showing back up at school thinking that that would keep them away from harm to just doing something really dumb every episode. Like Jordan's speech, what was the expectation there when they can each just disappear to Elmira. I mean Cipher wasn't even concerned that Jordan was number 1, I don't get why any of them think that their publicity protects them even a little bit. At least the whole "we live in a world of cameras stupid" thing was spot on, I guess. Even Cate at the end there threatening Cipher, like what did she think was going to be the outcome of that even if she did successfully blackmail him?
Dude doesn't age and they thought he had no powers? Don't they have a way of detecting humans, too? Now does he just happen to have Cate's power but magnified or does he have more?
I am not looking forward to whatever horrible fate lies in wait for Emma's new crew before the season is over, though. Please be ok.

So I am guessing the burn victim is the real Cipher and the the dean (a.k.a. Dr. Gold) is just his meat puppet. It explains the voyeuristic sex scene and Jordan's comment about Cipher being in constant pain.

It would also explain why he so badly wants Marie's power, not for strength but for the healing properties. And the whole steak knife bit.

I doubt it could ever happen but I do love the idea of Marie making Homelander explode.

I think Marie can end up being an important plot point in "The Boys" but I doubt she'd be THAT important coming out of a spin off. We'll see I guess.

I am catching up. This shit is way, way too on the nose how our society is right now. Wow. Scary.

Well that puts to bed how potentially strong she is. I'm still a little annoyed that these kids do just the dumbest things, though.

Twist was a little predictable and I'm guessing Giancarlo Esposito's role on this show is done, but man the kids just do the dumbest things and actually get punished for it.
Teaming up on a guy who can take people over is really dumb. But what's even dumber is making allies with someone you know nothing about, like at all, based on a nod. I wonder if it was an intentional parallel with the reasoning behind not healing Kate (that she's broken and was only playing along until she could be healed, and then she'd go back to her "normal" self).
