RIP Macolm Jamal Warner - The Cosby Show

https://www.tmz.com/2025/07/21/malco...ad-cosby-show/

Say what you will about The Cosby Show now this is very sad news. 54 is very young. I didn't watch all the episodes but enjoyed watching it while it aired.

Awful news. The last thing I saw him on was when he guest starred on 9–1-1.

Drowning is a terrible way to die. We probably will never know specifically what happened, but first thing I wondered is if got caught in some currents and got trapped in some kind of obstruction in the water.

Jesus Christ - you don't hear about a lot of accidental celebrity deaths. This is a bummer - always liked him on The Cosby Show and when I'd see him pop up in other projects.

I have an acquaintance who went on a beach trip in Mexico with her husband and he drowned one day while out swimming within sight of her and the beach. Fully capable swimmer, in great health and just pulled under and didn't come back up. They found his body the next day. It was so shocking. Can't imagine the way his family must feel.

One of my fears is suffocating. I was hating life when I had shortness of breath due to fluid in my lungs from heart failure.

Dammit. This one hurts a lot.

He had a guest role on Alert this past season. Obviously, that wasn't going anywhere either way.

I will miss him a good bit.

I had a friend who went on a casual boat outing with friends, got drunk, and dove into the water and got his legs chewed up by the propellor. Fortunately he made a full recovery.

Same. Fun show (During the time when I last watched sitcoms) and I still have one of the "Friday Night Videos" episodes he hosted on tape. RIP

Theo was my favorite character on The Cosby Show, he was just a very charming boy and I liked the aspect, that he was not an over achiever and had to find is own way with his lawyer mom and doctor father. My favorite role of Warner's was in Jeremiah besides Luke Perry. I liked the show a lot and the two had great chemistry.

The last part I remember was his recurring role in Major Crimes, although I watched Suits, I don't have any memory of him in that. I always wanted to give The Resident a chance.

People updated the story on Warner. He was caught in a high current that lead to his drowning.

Sad news. He’s only 3 years older than me. I grew up on that show.

Re: Malcolm Jamal Warner of the Cosby Show dies

Wow, I've been revisiting The Cosby Show over the last few days after finding the first few season sets at Goodwill for $1.99. Haven't seen them since I was a kid, but so many moments are burned into my memory. The kids on it are all great. Theo perfectly captures the awkward teenage stage of figuring out how to balance who you want to be with who you actually are. Tonight's episodes are going to be especially bittersweet.

Also surprised by how young he is. When you're five years old, a seven year age gap is enormous. When you're in your forties, not so much.

I was going to post the same. Apparently available through the Roku channel.

He plays an occasionally lovable jackass in this show. It has its problems, as all medical dramas do, but we enjoyed it overall.

Shocking news.

The Cosby Show was a staple in my house growing up. Theo was always my favorite Huxtable child. In an age when TV sitcom children are all geniuses and smarter than the adults, it was always fun to see Theo being a dumb teenager like the rest of us.

Enjoyed him on the Cosby Show and it was really great to see him have lots of success after. He always seemed like a terrific guy. Terribly tragic.

Being about the same age Theo was a fun and relatable character to me growing up in the '80s. What should have been a fun getaway turned tragic.

RIP Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

Really sad news. Always enjoyed his performances, starting with Cosby and rooted for his success when he got a new show, such as Listen Up. I can't forget his voice role as the producer on Magic School Bus, which I didn't realize was him until later. I got to see him on stage in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner on a 360 style stage in 2013 and he was great.

RIP

I did not watch it but maybe some of his best work was on the Resident.

Seemed like a normal cool friendly guy in interviews.

When me and the family watched the Cosby Show my mom said be like him and he cleans his bedroom.

Sounds bad but it should have been Bill Cosby that got swept in a current.

I found that tape earlier and gave it a look:

-I completely forgot that he was already directing Music Videos by that time.

-He was celebrating his 19th Birthday on this episode. Many guests (Including Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince) appeared and his mom gave him a cake Heavy D and The Boyz also stopped by. It was just an absolute trip to look at that TV-screen and realize that 3 of the 5 guys who were on screen are now no longer with us. Heavy D passed in 2011 and "Trouble T-Roy" died the following year of this taping by a freak accident.
