Odd choice to reboot. I rather liked the Karl Urban version.
I hope it's not another road that other film series like Hellboy or The Crow went down. Needless remakes and reboots.

Despite how zany the 2000A.D. comics can be, I think Waititi's humor is too broad for this. Hopefully I am wrong, but I have strong doubts. I'd rather a sequel to Dredd.

I’ll believe it when cameras start rolling. Remember that TV series that was supposedly happening and never did?

They should do a Judge Dredd streaming series instead of another movie.
Adapt some of the classic stories from the comics like Judge Death/Dark Judges, Cursed Earth, Apocalypse War, The Day the Law Died, Judge Child Quest, Necropolis, America, etc.

Much rather see a proper sequel to the Karl Urban version.

Have never read the comic but like the Urban version. Waititi seems a really bad fit for at least that version of the character. If there are others that are more his style or he’s making a version that’s his own i’m open to it. Don’t always like his films but a few have hit hard enough that he’d have to have a decade of full misses for me to not give his stuff a shot.

Urban has to come back. Even if it's not a proper sequel to the previous ones, the continuity is wacky in the comics, so it could go either way. I'd rather have a series, though.

I'd also dig this as an animated series, like is being tried with the Predator universe.

Re: Judge Dredd D: Waititi
The concept would probably work even better as an adult animated series.
It can get pretty crazy and surreal at times, and that doesn't always translate well into live action. There's also quite a bit of world-building that doesn't translate well into movies, and would work better on the breathing room television provides, and would be even easier to build up in animation -- stuff like the history of the Mega Cities, the Justice system based around Judges, the Cursed Earth, etc.
