Looking forward to this and it's already in my Apple Music library. I won't be picking up the physical set as it's $299.99 on CD and $349.99 on Vinyl (current Amazon prices).

Here's the first track off of Perfect World "Rain in the River"

This Tracks II release deserves its own thread, but nearly $300 for 7 CDs is way over priced. I’ll wait for a price drop.

Maybe not a separate thread but could be it's time this thread gets retitled to a something more generic. The General Bruce Springsteen Thread or something along that line of thinking.

Yeah that price is nuts. Plus I haven't really loved the couple of songs I've heard so far.

There is no need for the MSRP for this to be what it is. Metallica' Load Deluxe is $275 and it comes with 487 LPs, 874 CDs and 397 DVDs. Plus a book and some knick knacks.

83 tracks, 5 hrs, 19 minutes. Might be a while until I listen to it all

The price is ridiculous but I sprung for the CD set and it is impressive. Each disc comes in its own package though so I have a feeling they will eventually be released on their own.
The music is fascinating. I was worried I would be underwhelmed but not the case at all. Kind of a shame Scorsese never made his western with Bruce's soundtrack!

Working my way through the set. I'm really conflicted on it -- on one hand, it's awesome to have 83 new tracks, 73 new Bruce Springsteen songs to listen to. On the other -- it's not all great. A lot of it is same-y and really suffers from lack of melody. I'd bet 25% of these songs could be sung over the same tune, if not more.
Also, and this is just a streaming thing, but I had no idea these were 7 different albums (or 6 albums and one odds & ends compilation). Knowing where one album ended and the next began, and when they were recorded would probably help me understand and contextualize the content better.
It's just a LOT. All at once. And none of it so far seems essential to be. But I really liked "Don't Back Down" (Not to be confused with "Don't Back Down On Our Love")

Personally, I am really pleased with the set. To me it really feels like 7 albums and really fills in some gaps in his discography that I didn't really know were there.
I probably like Twilight Hours the least, which shocks me because it's basically joined at the hip with Western Stars and I loved that album. but it may grow on me.

Actually Tidal is my preferred streaming service, though I also have Spotify (Tidal sounds much better streaming to the Tesla).

So far I have only listened to Streets of Philadelphia Sessions and Twilight Hours. I loved both albums. I have heard some of the tracks from the other 5 albums on E. Street Radio but so far none have gotten me to play the album they are on.

Re: Bruce Springsteen - Tracks II
It's not from Tracks II but Springsteen just released "Lonely Night in the Park".

Tracked during the legendary Record Plant sessions for "Born to Run,” and heavily considered for album inclusion at the time, “Lonely Night in the Park” arrives today in studio quality as it has never been heard before. Celebrate 50 years of Born to Run with a track that was birthed during the legendary album's sessions — “Lonely Night in the Park” is now available to stream and download for the first time ever.

Re: Bruce Springsteen - Tracks II
Well first and foremost I want to thank Jon Landau for making sure that song didn't make the album. Forget replacing another track, if that were the 9th song on the album, it would have kept Born To Run from being the perfect masterpiece that it is. Vocals are really sloppy too.
I bet John Mellencamp is grateful as well because it sounds a lot like his first hit I Need A Lover (which is a much better song than this one), with similar big dramatic chords and an identical chord progression.
Still it's kind of fun to hear. I kept waiting for a Big Man sax solo, which never came.
