Revival (SyFy) -- S: Melanie Scrofano -- Horror series -- Premieres 6/12/25

About Revival: On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the "revived" appear and act just like they once were. When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she's left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.

CAST: Melanie Scrofano Romy Weltman David James Elliott Andy McQueen

"Revival" is created by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, who serve as showrunners and executive producers. Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Daniel March, Melanie Scrofano, Greg Hemmings, Stephen Foster & Amanda Row also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Blue Ice Pictures and Hemmings Films.

Melanie Scrofano was the star of Wynona Earp and was on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds if you don't know the name. She played Captain Batel.

Watched the first episode. It’s OK. Entertaining enough to keep watching. Scrofano is basically playing another version of Wynona Earp.

Wow, I just finished the entire compendium run via Kanopy around the time of the fires earlier this year and was thinking about how cool it would be if they made this into a series. Granted, the comic came out like 15 years ago. I only have a handful since I lost track of it.

I'll have to check it out now.

The 1st episode was dropped on YouTube

But, unfortunately if you don't subscribe to a live TV service, you're shit out of luck (for now) Not on any legal streaming service yet. Could drop later, when the season is over.

Otherwise, episodes are available to watch via paid VOD.

Episode 2 airs Thursday night.

I watched the first episode on peacock last night. Eh, it was okay, not great. I'll keep watching and hope it gets better. It felt like it was trying too hard to be quirky and failing. Horror/comedy can be a tricky tone to get right.

I read the comic in TPB format when the TPBs were first released so it has been a while since I read the story. I really enjoyed the comic and had no idea this show was coming out.

However, I am thrilled that we got a series based on the comic, and it is a major plus that it stars Melanie Scrofano (I clearly did not keep up with news of where she would end up after the Wynonna Earp film).

The show is not knocking me out of my socks but I am still happy to watch it asap (usually not long after it my xfinity box has recorded the show). I watch this weekly because there is that one week delay before the streamers such as Peacock air the episode.

Never read the comics, show definitely kept my interest with later episodes. Finale this week (next week on Peacock)
