Garbage - Let All That We Imagine Be the Light - 5/30/25

Rave review from NME. Who have not been all that kind to them before in the past. I didn't love the first track that was released at first. It has since grown on me since. But I ***love*** the second release. Very excited for this album and tour.

Yeah the first track did nothing for me... second is a lot better. I'll check out the new album but the last few haven't done much for me. They lost me somewhere between Beautiful Garbage and Bleed Like Me.

"Bleed Like Me" is an amazing album and could be my favorite. "Beautiful Garbage" was their weakest. And definitely their poppiest. All the albums after "Bleed" were really good, but I wouldn't call great.

None of them lived up to Garbage and Version 2.0 for me. A couple songs on Beautiful Garbage and Bleed Like Me were decent. I don't think I could even tell you one song off the ones after BLM.

This was a the best track off "Strange Little Birds". Sounds like early Garbage and could have easily been on their first two albums.

Been a fan since the first album and love them all. Seen them live twice and they were excellent. Shirley Manson is still a tota badass.

I've liked all their releases post-BLM. Each one has at least a couple of absolute great tunes, and the rest are at least enjoyable listens. Not Your Kind of People is a highlight for me, definitely check out the bonus tracks which are very very good.

I try to catch them live every time they make it through town. Their live show is fucking great. LOUD and Shirley is an awesome presence on the stage still.

Yeah that's one of the better tracks from the newer albums... I don't think I've played it since the first run thru of the album.

Same. I don't know how many times I've seen them in concert. Always a great show. My only gripe is I wish they had backup tracking tapes while performing live. Shirley records a few layered vocals on most of their songs in the studio. That's sorely missing live. I like her harmonizing with herself a lot. Also, there hasn't been a bad Garbage album yet. Some are just better than others. I still play them all.

My friend shared the new album with me and I just listened to it in it's entirety. It is superb. It's the best thing they've done in years. Definitely a new sound for them (very crunchy electronic in parts) and yet has that signature Garbage stamp. I'd pay to see them perform just this album live. I was not expecting this. 10/10 rating without hesitation. "R U Happy Now" is probably my favorite track.

My friend's quick take on the album:

It’s absolutely fantastic. Impossible to pick a favorite yet. Chinese Fire Horse, Sisyphus, Love to Give, Get Out My Face, RU Happy Now…all so good.
