Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025, D: Lipovsky, Stein) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

The newest chapter in New Line Cinema’s bloody successful franchise takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice—“Final Destination Bloodlines.”

Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.

“Final Destination Bloodlines” stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, with Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd.

Rated R

Running Time: 110 minutes. Longest movie of the series

RT Score: 95% with 74 reviews. This is the best score of the entire series

This was Tony Todd's final film before he passed away last year. But, he has several other movies that he shot beforehand that are in post waiting to be released.

Seeing a 3pm Dolby showing tomorrow. Big fan of the series. I recently re-watched part 5 on HBO Max. It's been 14 years since the last movie. This looks great and I heard you don't need to have seen any of the previous ones (if you've never seen a single FD movie)

Jon Watts has a co-story credit on this.

I loved it. Had a great time. There were some really gruesome kills and it also had some laughs.

Tony Todd appears in 1 scene and yes he didn’t look good. And his condition actually played a part of the story. It was cool that they gave his character Bludworth an origin story. And it wasn’t even remotely sinister as his character seemed throughout the series.

The opening sequence was pretty spectacular and harrowing to watch.

And wow, the MRI scene

The scene in the first teaser that came out was a total red herring.

The lead girl Kaitlyn Santa Juana is really cute. She reminds me of a younger Aimee Garcia.

And spoiler. Yes everyone dies. Death doesn’t fuck around.

yeah, most of the kills and potential kill drew lots of smiles and laughs. The only one that I closed my eyes on was the lawn mower scene since there was a beat there that allowed me to flinch, most of the others happened in a split second as more of a jump scare.

This was wild! Sounded great on Dolby. The trash one actually made me wince cause it was pretty brutal. The MRI one was nuts. But tons of fun and actually had an interesting story.

Watched Havoc Wednesday night and this last night. Love me some over the top kills. I think the MRI scene is going down with the tanning bed scene from 3 as one of the most iconic.

I also loved that what's the thing gets them at the very end? The infamous log truck

Final Destination: Bloodlines directors say IMAX viewers will get a version no one else will ever see

I saw the IMAX version and didn't notice this
In the IMAX version of this movie, there is a specific shot where we have a creepy push-in for each death sequence that we designed to be the moment where we expand to the IMAX aspect ratio right as death arrives. It’s the harbinger of death.”

The article says no
“It’s only in the IMAX version of the movie, which you can only see opening week in IMAX theaters. It’ll never be released on home video or on streaming. So for audiences that don’t know that’s what’s happening, they’ll just feel it as a bit of an increase in the intensity in those moments, as they get sucked into that bigger aspect ratio.

Re: Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025, D: Lipovsky, Stein) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I'm really glad this movie got a weekend on top at the box office. Not only was this the best Final Destination movie that I've seen, it's also a really good movie.

The opening was amazing and it set the scene for everything to come with excellent lore. The Rube Goldberg contraptions were superb and the deaths were both gruesome and funny -- exactly what a good horror movie can use to good effect, if you ask me.

Tony Todd is the man. I thought tying his story to this story was really well done. Rest in peace, Candy Man. Hope heaven doesn't play too much of that "soft ass shit."

We got our kids AMC A-List now that they've opened the platform to minors. This was her first movie with it. I figured she'd love it or hate it and wow, did she love it!

Re: Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025, D: Lipovsky, Stein) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

this movie was preposterous, egregious, implausible, insane, gruesome and some of the most fun I've had at or at home movie experience in a long time. this was so good for franchise that felt passed its prime with the 3rd, or 4th or 5 or whatever and that many thought died. this had some of the most gruesome and awesome fucking deaths i have ever seen put to American celluloid. this movie also had something the others didn't have, well, maybe 2 things. this was funny or at least a lot of fun and it had genuine heart (until the very end that is). but it made you care about some of the characters and while cliche, they pulled it off quite nicely. boy, Tony Todd looked a shell of a man. I'm so glad he went out on this high note. he was great in them all, the bits he had, but this one he was having fun, and you could tell and it's too bad we won't see him again. i know they will keep this thing running, but this was such a fun way to go out the first time (at least for now). i simply had a blast!

I disagree that the franchise was past its prime. Some are of course better than others but, all of them are really fun to watch. All of them very profitable as well.

Although it doesn't rank among my favorite films in the franchise, Directors Zach Lipovsky & Adam Stein's entry was the most fun I've had in a theater this year.

As a few have mentioned already, the opening sequence was absolutely amazing on all levels and amongst the best sequences the franchise has ever offered.

I also appreciated the script exploring more of how of families who escape death, affect its plans, which I hope is explored more in the future.

Loved seeing Tony Todd on the screen one last time. According to a few articles I've read, his final speech was not scripted:

Finally watched this, just prior to watching Sinners. This was a surprisingly fun return to form for the franchise, after the clunkers that were The Final Destination and Final Destination 5. I really dug that the entire movie
Spoiler:
was one gigantic Rube Goldberg device.

If this is not the last, I hope the next movie can build on the momentum of this one.

I never really liked any of these films but after seeing the trailers for this one, something was telling me I really needed to check it out. Glad I did because it was f'n awesome. fans of the second one will be very pleased lol. It's as if they said, "F it, we know made a scary, fun flick, but nobody can top that "other" shit, let's throw it in".

Honestly, the film was even a bit creepy which I loved. As hilarious as it was seeing the girl get flung into the garbage can then into the garbage truck, it was pretty freaky.

I'm definitely going to buy this one on disc.

Like Story mentioned.
Some really great Rube Goldberg stuff and really funny too but man that trash truck kill was just too real looking. That was rough.
All the foreshadowing of the deaths builds tension and the contraptions are just incredible.
