Primitive War (2025, Dir: Luke Sparke; Tricia Helfer, Jeremy Piven)
I could not find a thread for this film, having watched the trailer I admit to being interested in watching this film. Maybe even in a movie theater. It could be comically bad, so bad it is still a guilty pleasure to watch, an okay film, or a true pleasant surprise.

I saw the trailer a few days ago and looked for a thread but didn't find one. I was going to start it but well got sidetracked. Thanks for starting.
Trailer looked good... main interest here is Tricia Helfer's involvement.

Yeah...always nice to see Tricia pop up on TV or in a film. I think in real live Piven is known as an ahole (or maybe also on the set he is one as well, I could swear the man is a um, controversial actor), but the man can act so the primary cast for this seems solid. I think the Collider article about this film said forget the latest JP, as this is the dino film with humans in it that they are really looking forward to.
I have seen all the JPs in a theater so for me I have two dino films to look forward to later this year, works for me.

Officially opens this weekend. It's 127 minutes. Not sure I can make it this weekend. Have plans on Friday and work on Saturday.

This is on Hoopla now. It was not great. But there was a lot of dino action--lots of bloody kills. That stuff was entertaining, and the effects are better than, say, a typical Syfy monster movie. It would have been more fun, though, if it had taken itself a little less seriously. Jeremy Piven was terrible, doing a bad southern accent, while Tricia Helfer did a bad Russian accent.
The premise is actually kind of interesting as far as how the dinosaurs got to Vietnam in the 60s. Makes me want to read the novel.
