Based on the trailer and my love of Westerns, this is a movie I'd watch if Baldwin wasn't the lead. I think he's simply wrong for the role.

It has body cam footage, interrogation footage, and cast and crew interviews. It's also a tribute to Halyna and her talent, which I thought was nice to see for this somber story.

I’m a sucker for westerns so I may check it out if it’s available on streaming somewhere but this doesn’t look any different than the dozens is shitty, cheap looking westerns already available on streaming services everywhere that no one’s ever heard of. The only difference is this has the notoriety of the death on set.

I'm a sucker for westerns too and if actors I do like are in one, I'm sold on it, because there are so few westerns. I like Alec Baldwin and Travis Fimmel so I'm definitely watching it. I was already interested before the tragedy.

I think Alec Baldwin has joined Jonathan Rhys Myers and will just do "B" or "C" movies now.

He's almost 70 and has 8 kids, mostly small children. He needs the work to pay the bills and stopped being a legitimate A-List actor years ago. That's why he takes jobs like Rust.

I'm pretty sure he could have landed "any" leading role in a big TV/streaming show, after the success of 30 Rock, but he decided to do a talk show on MSNBC which bombed hard, than he mostly took some supporting roles in movies like Still Alice, Mission: Impossible or Concussion and then he again went for a talk show, which failed too and by then most people had enough of him as a person.
I still think he could land a gig on a TV show and doesn't have to do low budget movies, he did a good job on Dr. Death alongside Joshua Jackson and Christian Slater.

I watched Rust and it's a solid western, but it's definitely nothing special. It doesn't look cheap although the budget couldn't have been big. Alec Baldwin and Josh Hopkins both gave good performances, so did the kid playing Baldwin's grandson, but the standout was Travis Fimmel playing a bounty hunter. Throughout The Beast or Vikings I was never sure how good an actor he really is, but man the guy has charisma for three actors.

I thought it was pretty decent as well
