You probably won't have to drive to Sacramento to see the movie.

I dunno about the rest of you, but Sacramento Michael Cera Kristen Stewart Michael Angarano 4/11/2025 seems like a pretty obtuse title for a film. I can’t say I’m too interested in Sacramento Michael Cera Kristen Stewart Michael Angarano 4/11/2025 but I’m willing to give it a chance.
Who knows, maybe Sacramento Michael Cera Kristen Stewart Michael Angarano 4/11/2025 will become a sleeper hit and everybody and their dog will be raving about Sacramento Michael Cera Kristen Stewart Michael Angarano 4/11/2025.
“Did you see Sacramento Michael Cera Kristen Stewart Michael Angarano 4/11/2025? It’s so good! I hope the director of Sacramento Michael Cera Kristen Stewart Michael Angarano 4/11/2025 sweeps at the Oscars!”
edit: I see a mod fixed the title. Cowards!

Hey, serious question, Jeff. You good, dude? Outside of the thread title (now fixed), these are sort of... atypical, fragmented thoughts to publish. RE: two movies set in the city released eight years apart, the distance the city is from you...

Was it me or does the trailer make this look like the wacky West Coast version of A Real Pain?

You are so funny and you should get the Mark Twain Prize for humor

I thought maybe the mods would have created a thread for this movie and a rare Michael Cera movie where he is playing one of the leads again.

Distributed by Vertical so Hulu, Showtime, or Starz in the future?

Just saw it. It was okay, 3/5 stars. Some of the "Sacramento" scenes were frustratingly not Sacramento but it is an indie movie so I'll cut it some slack. If it had been called Bakersfield, I wouldn't have noticed incorrect scenes.

Angarano wrote and directed it but e was born in Brooklyn so maybe not the true authentic Sacramento voice like Grete Gerwig is.

Re: Sacramento (2025; S: Cera, Stewart, Angarano)
This was OK. I had a hard time with Cera at first, because he now looks like a middle-aged man baby, but I guess that ultimately worked out for the themes of the picture. I also had difficulty with Kristin Stewart, because it was hard for me to accept her as a patient wife (and I didn't believe her prosthetic belly). I still think she was miscast and didn't have much to do in the movie.
Still, the movie turned it around for me at the wrestling scene, and I let go of some of the hangups I had initially. I felt like it hit a lot of the same themes as A Real Pain (and I'm sure having two male leads is part of the reason it felt like that), but with impending fatherhood as the driving motivator, rather than intergenerational trauma.

This is now on Hulu
If Angarano wants to write and direct more movies I am in.
Not a huge Stewart fan but she was pretty funny in this movie though it was better she did not travel with the guys.
Maybe it kind of dragged when Rickey meets the girl but worth a watch.
