Two 2025 Oscar threads?

If this one is supposed to be just to discuss the award show broadcast, it should be in TV Talk.

We often have one general thread for he Academy Awards and then one for the telecast, both are almost always in the Movie forum.

It's the additional "2024 Award Season" thread about movies from 2024 but about events happening in 2025 that's throwing me off.

I missed last year when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, but I saw it the year before when Faye Dunaway botched the Best Picture presentation and said "La La Land" instead of "Moonlight." Imagine my surprise when I came across a post in my Facebook Memories where I referenced that moment and noticed the date as...2017!!! That was eight years ago?!!!

Hey, at least you get points for correctly attributing it to Faye Dunaway. Most people think Warren Beatty blurted out the wrong movie title, when in fact he just turned red and stammered when he saw the card.

I loved his monologue. It was basically his late night show and the audience wasn't buying.

It will get bad reviews but he did his thing.

I thought Wild Robot would win, but I'm glad Flow won. What a wonderful, animated film. Very emotional without a single word.
