Lots of good acts. If Outkast or The White Stripes get in and perform I’ll watch for sure.

I've never heard of Mana.
I'm okay with most of them but will be pulling for
New Order/Joy Division
Oasis
Outcast
Soundgarden
Cyndi Lauper
The White Stripes

Annual reminder about the fan vote....
It's worth 1/1000th of the election.
There are about 999 ballots sent out to committee members (industry people, artists, previous HOF inductees, etc). Each voter selects up to five nominees.
The winners of the fan vote determine the 1000th ballot, which counts for just as much as any one of the other individual 999 ballots.

I love New Order and will be delighted if they are inducted, and know the Hall has a weird thing about only nominating one Post-Punk act a year, but seriously how are The Smiths still not in? I feel their body of work is more influential and impactful than every one of these nominees. (Mariah Carey had by far the most hits, but isn't a R&R artist).

Crazy.
He certainly did capitalize on The Twist craze. It hit #1 twice within 2 years (Aug 1960 for one week and then Nov 1961 for two weeks)!
Then had Let's Twist again which hit #8.
Slow Twistin' which hit #3!
Twist It Up which hit #25 in 1963 and probably wasn't his last "Twist" song but none of the others charted until The Twist (Yo, Twist!) with him and The Fat Boys which hit #16 in 1988. Remember them? 😆
The nutty thing is that the song he is most known for wasn't even his and was a cover version. The original was done by Hank Ballard and released in 1958 but peaked at #28 the same year and month that Chubby's version hit #1. Music is strange.
And this is not even counting his two movies in 1961 and 1962 called Don't Knock The Twist and Twist Around The Clock. Plus all the TV and movie appearances as himself because of that song.
Talk about riding a fad. Wow.
On top of all those 22 (remember The Twist charted twice) songs that hit the Top 40, he had another #1 hit called Pony Time that held that spot for 3 weeks and another song called Limbo Rock that hit #2 for two weeks.
So yeah, he deserves to be there. He definitely made a huge cultural impact and had more chart success than most artists have in their lifetimes.

Joy Division/New Order has influenced more acts then all the other nominees combined, absurd they were not in much earlier.

Maná is a Mexican pop rock band. I don’t know much about them, but I’ve probably heard them since I live in the Southwest.
I’ll be rooting mostly for The White Stripes, Soundgarden, and Joy Division/New Order

I didn't realize it, but Styx isn't in the HOF. Saw an interview with Tommy Shaw about it. Kinda surprised at that.

Re: 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees
Yeah that's lame. I guess they're viewed as too 'lightweight'. If only a Styx song were memorably used in an iconic Sopranos scene or a beloved romantic comedy film, it would probably have been enough to push them over the line.

Re: 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees
Then there's Three Dog Night, Guess Who and Steppenwolf. All kinds of hits between them. Born To Be Wild for fuck's sake, one of the most famous songs ever.

Too "lightweight"? Stevie Nicks is in there TWICE. I don't like Styx, but they absolutely belong in the HoF.
