Homestead (D: Smallbone S: McDonough) 2024 post-apocalyptic film and TV show

I figured there would be a thread about this, but I couldn't find it. Sorry if there is.

We watched this movie last night, followed by the two episodes that have been released so far. I've always liked post apocalyptic movies. It's an even more frightening scenario given today's political climate. It feels like this could be our reality soon.

A nuke goes off in LA and cyber attacks kill the power for a good portion of the country. Chaos ensues. The typical scenes occur: endless lines of traffic to get gas or food, people fighting over those items, etc. McDonough is the most recognizable name and face, he plays a billionaire with a massive compound in the rocky mountains. He hires a security team of ex military guys to protect the "homestead" from outsiders, so they barricade the property. Refugees start camping near the compound begging for food and resources, and what's left of the government wants the resources too.

The movie kicks off the story, and it's followed by an 8 episode TV series (two episodes out so far) to continue the story.

Something stood out to me while watching all of this though. There's a decent amount of conversation about God and whether he exists. I did some Googling and learned that Angel Studios, the film production company behind this project, are known for their Christian themed films. Now I feel like this series is going to push a Christian agenda on its viewers. I hope the series doesn't end with everyone singing in church. I have to imagine this is why the show has mixed reviews on RT.

That said, I still enjoyed what I watched, because it presents (so far) a realistic scenario of what life could be like after a nuclear attack.

At the bolded if people want to continue to post these foolish statements expect comments-lean to cope.

The TV movie The Day After had that type of scenario.

I'm not surprised you're a Trumper. I would also venture to guess that you're an old white man since you're a Charles Bronson fan, and I bet you live in the south. Did I nail all 3?

Cope, that's rich. You support a fascism, not democracy.

I have said multiple times I am an Independent.

Your previous POTUS told everyone to cope.

Stop bringing your politics in these forums you have your own to rant in.

And you only got the Bronson fan part right sport.

Here I was thinking more people wrote something about the movie. d2cheer perhaps you could have just ignored the part you highlighted? Complaining about personal politics and then brining in your personal politics, is a weird way to comment in a movie forum.

There has been more and more political creeping into these forums I am unsure why that has to be.

If people don’t want to get called out on it they shouldn’t mention it.
