I agree to a certain extent. I would lump everything but Jackie Brown (which I keep trying to like) and Death Proof is just horrible. Luckily not as bad as RR’s.

Re: Your rank of Quentin Tarantino's directed films (full film).
I'll play since he and Greta Gerwig are the only two contemporary directors whose entire bodies of work I've seen.
1. Kill Bill Vol. 1
2. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
3. Jackie Brown
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Reservoir Dogs
6. Inglourious Basterds
7. Django Unchained
8. The Hateful Eight
9. Kill Bill Vol. 2
10. Death Proof
If we could include TRUE ROMANCE, I'd put it in after JACKIE BROWN and before PULP FICTION. The first half of HATEFUL EIGHT was great, but not enough to move the film up any further on the list.

We talkin favorite 1-10 or his best? Cause they ain’t the same for me.
That being said, I thoroughly enjoy all of them. I don’t think he’s made a bad film.

I dunno' . . . for the longest time I couldn't stand Tarantino films. Then I began to appreciate them. Now, I might like some of them, but I'm not sure.
I would put Hateful Eight towards the top because I like the rapid fire dialogue along with the claustrophobic setting.
I like parts of the Kill Bills, but don't care for them as whole movies.
Need to revisit Inglorious Basterds and Jackie Brown.
I recall mostly liking Django Unchained, but I can't stand Jamie Foxx.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was good, but I didn't get the point.
Pulp Fiction an Reservoir Dogs are part of cinematic history, but nothing that keeps me riveted.
That's all.

I never thought he was a great actor but he seemed fine in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction but his acting in Django Unchained was so unbelievably bad that I almost felt like he was doing something with that character that I didn’t understand. Like he was making role extra cartoony or something for some reason.

Re: Your rank of Quentin Tarantino's directed films (full film).
My top three would be:
1. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Inglourious Basterds
The rest could be in any order depending on my mood with the only constant being Death Proof at the bottom.

Re: Your rank of Quentin Tarantino's directed films (full film).
I freakin' love Death Proof. Never understood the hate for it. Yeah, there's some clunky bits in there, I've said before that Quentin needed to lock himself in a room for a weekend with a typewriter and fix a few things (like how Zoe gets on the hood of that Dodge Challenger) but overall it's a fun movie. I love the "hangout" atmosphere of the girls in the bar, and the car chase at the end of course. I do, however, think the "extended cut" drags too much, and the Grindhouse cut is the only way to watch it.
It's a fairy tale version of Hollywood in the 60s. Where everything is about movies and making movies (examples, Schwarz talking about not just watching movies at home, but what film format he watched them on, or Cliff and Rick dissecting the shots in the episode of FBI..."where did you shoot this?", "that was a good jump"). The only crises are forgetting your lines, being upstaged by a child actor, or having to go to Italy to shoot low budget westerns. I was in diapers when the events of the film were supposed to take place so I don't know how accurate of a depiction it was, but everything was about to be turned upside down with the turbulent 70s, beginning with the Manson murders. So, this being Hollywood, it's given a "Hollywood ending" unlike what actually happened.
I've never understood the obsession (including QT's) of this having to be "one film". Yes, I know that's how he wrote it, but the two films are quite different in tone and style and I'm perfectly ok with them being two movies. One is about revenge being simple and a straight line, the second one is how it is not. The first ends with a great climactic sequence in the House of Blue Leaves (I don't know how I'd feel if that was a mid-movie sequence), and a great setup for the following chapter. The second one is far more meditative. I also don't know what's to gain with it being one film, other than not having to get up and change the discs (assuming you're watching at home), as nothing was cut out of the films. In fact, what I consider more egregious with the films as released is the black-and-white scenes in the House of Blue Leaves sequence, done in post by Tarantino to appease the MPAA. I'd be far more interested in a new release of Kill Bill Volume 1 that keeps that scene intact (I don't know if the "whole bloody affair" version that QT has shown at his New Beverly theater fixes that, in which case I do support it). Right now, the only release I know that contains the proper color version of the sequence is the Japanese DVD, which I do own.
