ASH (2025, D: Ellison) -- S: Eiza Gonzalez, Aaron Paul

On the mysterious planet of Ash, Riya (Eiza González) awakens to find her crew slaughtered. When a man named Brion (Aaron Paul) arrives to rescue her, an ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensues while Riya and Brion must decide if they can trust one another to survive.

This is the major feature directorial debut of Steven Ellison aka "Flying Lotus"

Looks like he directed a small Indie and a segment of VHS 99

Flying Lotus has a unique style and this movie looks like a lot of flash, so hopefully the script matches that. I'm intrigued enough that I want to see it in the theater.

Coming to theaters March 21

I've seen no advertising for this movie. They probably have a micro advertising budget if that.

Saw this tonight. A super low budget locked room horror flick with some good visuals, cool set lightning and excellent work from Eiza. This only works as well as it does because of her. There was definitely some Dead Space vibes toward the end.

I saw the special showing also, slow and choppy in the first half, but then finishing strong with a cleaner narrative. There was supposed to be a live Q&A after the movie (I think), but nothing appeared, so everyone at my showing got a free movie pass which I accepted even though I used a A-List slot for it, can always use it to bring a friend.

Saw this last night and thought it was 'okay' at best.

Saw this a few weeks ago.

Came for Director Flying Lotus' visual style but was met with Writer Jonni Remmler's derivative & convoluted plot.

This is now on Shudder/AMC+

I wanted to see this months ago, but the theatrical run was very short and very limited. I'll try to catch it now.

Got through about 45 minutes of this movie and turned it off. I have to admit, I wasn't giving it my full attention, and the above two quotes indicate this is not a movie you can have as "background" material.

Will give it another go when I can truly focus on it.

Mediocre movie, meandering for the first half as others have said already.
