When Harry Met Sally the sequel?
Maybe a preview of a future Super Bowl ad if nobody wants a sequel and just leave it as it is.

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan teased a long-awaited on-screen reunion with a mysterious Instagram post Jan. 22. In the photo, Crystal and Ryan sit next to each other on a brown couch, smiling. The furniture and yellowed floral wallpaper notably matches the setting of the final scene of their 1989 romantic comedy, "When Harry Met Sally..."
"It’s finally happening, we’re reuniting for something iconic. Can’t wait to show you all soon," Ryan captioned the joint post.
It's unclear exactly for what Crystal and Ryan might be reuniting. With the 2025 Super Bowl just weeks away, some fans in the comment section speculated the pair may have teamed up for a commercial. Others hoped for a sequel and a return to their characters of Harry Burns and Sally Albright.
"When Harry Met Sally...," written by Nora Ephron, followed the yearslong relationship between the two New Yorkers, who go from feeling disdain to friendship to eventually, love.

Reuniting for a commercial - sure, whatever.
Reuniting for a sequel - god no. It worked in that specific moment in time with those actors at that time in their life. Don't think anyone wonders what the characters would be up to in 2025.

Every year we get this BS. Is Matthew Broderick returning as Ferris Bueller? Is Jeff Bridges making another movie as The Dude?
No you idiots, they're appearing in a commercial during the Super Bowl!

I mean, we saw sequels to Blade Runner, Top Gun, Coming to America, Bill & Ted, etc.. after a few decades after the original/previous iteration. Not hard to imagine Hollywood continuing to set the bar even lower with their lack of originality and creativity.

It's a Super Bowl commercial. Already been leaked or announced.

I was hoping this was a "You've Got Mail" sequel where she sues him for sexual harassment.

Are legacy sequels the live service games of the film industry?

I didn't find it on the internet. I saw it talked about on the Today Show. They said what rocket is saying. It's a SB ad for mayo.

It's probably the best true rom-com of all time. Only genre snobbery kept it from being a major Oscar nominee that year. Really it might feel cliché now, but that's because it really set the tone for most rom-coms that came after it.

Born on the 4th of July, Dead Poets Society. and Field of Dreams all lost to Driving Miss Daisy that year in the Oscars and Do the Right Thing and When Harry Met Sally were ignored by the Academy.
Crazy.
Crazy.

Forget the rest. That was the year this movie came out

Back when it came out, it was seen by many as a watered-down version of Annie Hall with a happy ending. Now it is like the UR-text for what a rom-com is.

I agree, probably a Super Bowl commercial.
Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in a house. Meg Ryan making loud sounds.
Neighbor walks by, "I'll have what she's having"
Cut to Door Dash logo.

Although these things get rumored around the time of the Superbowl - it's not like it's out of the realm that it could be a sequel.

I think these Super Bowl ads would have a lot more impact if they actually surprised us on the air. But that's not how these ads roll out any more, unfortunately.

Billy Crystal is 76 years old. Maybe a sequel where Harry runs for president.

If they have to roll them out like this I wish they would do something more up front to the viewer than “cryptic posts on social media! What could it mean?” Type stuff that they always seem to do with these types of ads.

The thing is, if the NFL is trying to attract younger viewers - they're going leave a lot of young people scratching their heads. "Who are they?".
Most under the age of 35 (even 40) probably have never seen the movie.

Yes when I was in bed I forgot that and was going to mention it.
Maybe 1989 was overlooked as one of the best years of cinema.
Maybe it is not on the same level as the other movies but Black Rain also came out last year.
