I want to say Captain America: Brave New World, but the reports the first cut sucked and all the reshoots make me cautious about it. I'm still going to see it, but it's not highly anticipated.

My top five but I'm almost more interested in the stories behind these films and their impact on the industry:
Mission Impossible - nearly 30yrs after the first, and an important one for Paramount
Superman - the fate of DC (and WB?) hangs on this one.
Fantastic Four - a new MCU property that looks fresh and fun.
F1 - director of Top Gun Maverick's follow up. (and what is Apple doing?)
Avatar 3 - may not join the 2 billion club but will no doubt reach new heights in VFX and overall filmmaking.

1. Paul Thomas Anderson's 10th feature film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Releases on Aug. 8 in IMAX and has a production budget of over $100 million. In other words, Hell hath frozen over LOL. Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall and Alana Haim are supporting players.

2. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning - curious to see how they will wrap up the series. Still shocked the last one (Part 1) did so poorly after the success of Top Gun a year prior.

3. Mickey 17 - it seems like Parasite, one of my favorite films of the past 10 years, came out about a decade ago. Can't wait for more Bong,

4. Nobody 2 - Looking forward to watching Bob Odenkirk kick some more ass!

5. The Bride - Maggie Gyllenhaal directs her version of Bride of Frankenstein, features Christian Bale as the monster and Jessie Buckley as the bride.

Honorable Mention: Ballerina, Ana de Armas gets her own John Wick universe spinoff,

No new Pokemon movies since SECRETS OF THE JUNGLE in 2021, so I'm hoping there will be a 24th Pokemon movie this year

Wow, just noticed that Black Bag and Mickey 17 are the only two films in my list that are not sequels/part of an existing franchise.

None. There are several that have my interest, but I can't say I feel anticipation for any.

I'm not sure Horizon 2 gets a release in 2025 theatrically unless Kevin Costner wants to pay for all the marketing costs. Yes, it's shot and ready to be seen, but the 1st one was such a financial failure that I doubt WB wants anything to do with the sequel.

Outside of that, I'm also looking forward to Thunderbolts*, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina & Nobody 2.

Even though he didn't pen the script, I'm really excited to see Director Timo Tjahjanto behind the lens for Nobody 2.

I didn't include it in my "Top 5", but I am also anticipating Ballerina and Jurassic World: Rebirth along with Fantastic Four: First Steps.

I'm curious about The Amateur with Rami Malek playing a normal nobody CIA guy hell bent on revenge for the murder of his wife. But, those movies can be hit or miss.

2024, especially in the latter part of the summer, was sort of derailed because of the WGA and SAG strikes with a bunch of films pushed back. Hopefully 2025 is a better year.

Just saw the trailer tonight — Black Bag looks to be some classy fun. I’m always up for some big-budget mainstream Soderbergh.

1) M3GAN 2.0 (the first one was fun and a guilty pleasure)

2) The Black Phone 2 (When I heard they were making a sequel, my initial thought was WTF, but apparently Joe Hill had already thought about a potential sequel after the first was released and successful. Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, and Madeline McGraw have agreed to reprise their rolls, so I am optimistic and open minded.)

3) Devil Wears Prada 2 (Assuming this actually happens, and I don't have high hopes, and wish it wouldn't move forward. With that said, I'll watch anything that has Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, though I would be much more excited if it was an entirely different movie......I remember when I saw River Wild in the '90s and was astonished when Streep morphed into a credible action star. Hathway has done Get Smart and Blunt has also proved adept at action/adventure........Give me an original action/adventure, with Blunt, Streep, and Hathaway, and I'd be much happier than waiting for Devil Wears Prada 2....)

Looking forward to M3gan 2.0 quite a bit as well
