Dear Santa (2024, D: B. Farrelly) S: Jack Black

This holiday, Jack Black is NOT Santa. Dear Santa premieres Nov 25 on Paramount+ and on DigitalDEAR SANTA is the story of a young boy (Robert Timothy Smith) who mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, resulting in a devilish Jack Black’s arrival to wreak havoc on the holidays. DEAR SANTA marks the return of the Farrelly Brothers, the hilarious minds behind Dumb & Dumber, Something About Mary, and more. With their latest collaboration, which joins their decades-spanning repertoire of wild comedy films, Christmas is going up in flames.
Additional cast members of the deviously charming Christmas film, include Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele, Wonka), Brianne Howey (Ginny & Georgia), Hayes MacArthur (Angie Tribeca, Merry Happy Whatever) global music superstar Post Malone, P.J. Byrne (The Boys, The Big Cigar), Jaden Carson Baker and Kai Cech.

The problem I had was they established one rule, that the wish couldn't change history, then they just hodgepodge that ending together?

The idea was better than the execution. Jack Black was great being Jack Black, but the story did lack heart and humor and they milked the shart joke way too long.

I mean the target audience had to be middle school kids so it's hard for me to judge. The parents were downright unreasonable/unhinged and constantly get fooled by their kids, and there's a strange middle aged man taking them to concerts and hotel rooms and nobody bats an eye.
Also if I think about it too hard, first wish basically manipulating at middle school girl isn't the greatest.
But that ending was something else:
