A well made, well acted quiet drama. I don't think people will have the attention span for this one. Lots said with very little dialogue.

It certainly took a long while to get to the crux of the story. I had watched the Paramount+ series the Woman in the Wall earlier this year. It's a more contemporary story about the victims of the Magdalene laundries so that helped when they finally started to reveal what the movie was about.
Looking up the movie afterwards, Eileen Walsh, who plays Murphy's wife in this, played one of the young women in a movie called the Magdalene Sisters a little over 20 years ago.

This is out on VOD tomorrow. Supposed to be very good, award worthy. Looking forward to it and to seeing one of my favorites Cillian Murphy.

It was good but maybe not for everyone.
Without reading the plot I thought it would be a thiller or a crime drama but a different kind of crime drama.
A different kind of Xmas movie.
I thought it was set in the 70's or earlier but supposedly 1985.

Now available on Hulu but much better to watch in Winter or during Xmas time.
