I am surprised the reviews are so positive, given how underwhelming the trailer is. Hopefully it is indeed a good new horror film.

Seeing this tonight. Harkins is actually playing this on a large IMAX equivalent premium screen. They call it Cine-XL. It's 4K laser projection and yes I used the T-Mobile discount. Otherwise, this is going no premium screens in the other chains.

It’s basically the structure and tropes of romcom blended with a slasher. I didn’t dislike it, but am surprised by the very positive response.
I did enjoy the cast. I’ve been a fan of Holt since that Marvel show she was on. And Mason Gooding is very charismatic with good comic timing.

This was super fun! A Rom-Com Slasher?!? Sound crazy but they made it work. The leads had great chemistry and the kills were gory.

I found some parts of it very corny. But overall it was a fun watch and there were some very gory kills. In a way, it was a nice throwback to old 1980s serial killer horror movies.

Really enjoyed this, it’s definitely more RomCom than horror, but it’s consistently funny and the leads were good.
Even the stuff involving the kills is used for laughs and it works I can see why it got good reviews and a decent box office return.

Instead of making fun of rom-coms 75% of the time it was a rom-com. Not sure why they cast rom com type bland actors if they were going for humour either. They would have been better served with some comedic actors. Pretty bland as a slasher as well.
Had a few fun moments though.

Loved this movie. Saw it on Netflix.
While watching it, the quick wit humor reminded me of Happy Death Day humor. Looked up the writers and confirmed my suspicion.
Good editing too. Give me a sequel.

Just got around to watching this. What a fun ride. I don't want a sequel, but would enjoy more movies in this style. And, yes, it totally has Happy Death Day/Happy Death Day 2U/Freaky style humor, courtesy of Christopher Landon.

Rented the movie on Vudu the other day and really liked it. I will get a UHD if/when it is released. Not buying a BD.
