Uglies (2024, D: McG) -- S: King, Tju, Powers, Cox
In the future, the world has fallen into chaos after exhausting all natural resources. To keep humanity alive, scientists first create genetically modified orchids that are a new energy source, and second, a surgical procedure to make people pretty; this way, everyone's perfection will not cause any further chaos. The surgery is performed on "Uglies" when they are 16, before allowing them to the City where celebration occurs as the "Pretties".
I never even heard of this flick (or the book trilogy it's based on) until I spotted it on Netflix tonight. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Given how no one was legitimately ugly, but the "pretties" all looked weird, I kept thinking about that The Twilight Zone episode called "Eye of the Beholder".

The trailer feels like a big-budget parody, especially with the blunt name. Also - and I know this is not a popular sentiment - Joey King grew into a weird-looking adult.
