That's a neat premise. Whenever I'm out on the highway and see an Amber Alert on the signs, I always glance around at the cars near me. And I always like seeing Hayden Panettiere in movies.

I'll be expecting Tyler to look into the camera to break the 4th wall the whole film.

Apparently it's a remake of a 2012 movie with the same name, director and writers.
So they're in a decent sized city when they see the car before they head onto the highway - and the nearest police unit is 30 minutes away? Seems unlikely. And no highway patrol or helicopters they could get?
Hate the cellphone "no service" cliche.

Rented this from Vudu and watched it last night. Pretty effective low budget thriller. Some pretty suspenseful moments. Of course, there are a few contrived scenes to help add to the drama.
The movie is a tight and fast moving 90 minutes. It's not an amazing movie (you're not going to get that with these low budget Lionsgate thrillers), but it's very watchable and I was never bored. It has a satisfying end.
Most likely you will have to wait until this hits Starz (if you have it) if you don't want to pay a la carte to watch it.

Just watched this via Hulu. It was decent. More on the “realistic” side of storytelling, rather than “Hollywood” thriller action. For example, “The Call” (Halle Berry) is more of an exciting Hollywood plot.
Panettiere is really good in this. Her scene explaining her past (trying not to spoil) was some great acting.
In the house scenes, I noticed a 70s era clown balloon lamp, which I also had in my childhood. It’s still at my parent’s house. That was trippy to see.
Even though I can appreciate the less Hollywood style scenes, I was yelling at the screen for Shane and Jaq to clear the house fast! Move your ass! Especially when Shane had the gun, he was having Jaq lead their way out of the house. Bro, you lead. You have the gun. Clear the room and move!
Overall, I’d recommend it if you like “The Call”.

Watched this while on the exercise bike - which is how I normally watch low-level or mindless movies.
It was meh.
There are things I didn't quite get, but admittedly I could've missed a few little details because I wasn't 100% concentrating on the movie as I was on the bike.
This annoyed the shit out of me. They think they have about 20 minutes to get the girl and leave, and they're taking their sweet-ass time walking through the house. Even if you're exercising caution, you should be moving faster than that. And this isn't the time to examine the room, look at photo albums, etc. WTF are you doing?!!
What happened during the confrontation between Shane and pedo? Pedo was shot and Shane is perfectly fine, yet Pedo limped upstairs while Shane... went for coffee? Why didn't pedo kill him?
Why did the cop not get help from Scottsville PD like he originally said and just decided to go himself instead? Scottsville PD are closer and time is of the essence.
Also, pedo is a step ahead and basically traps them in the house... but he leaves a gun with bullets in plain sight for them to potentially use?
I'm assuming pedo's car is stolen, otherwise they'll get him later based on the plates (also Jaq/Shane can provide a description to boot) - but throwing the doll onto the road is gift-wrapping the cops with his DNA.
