I know Incredibles 2 was a bit of a disappoinment, and a lot of people really dislike it, but I actually enjoyed that movie. Nowhere near as much as the first, but I enjoyed it.
I'd be willing to give Incredibles 3 a shot.

Eh... I'm in the hate it camp regarding the sequel. But I guess that means this flick'll have a very low bar to clear.
SIDE NOTE: I thought that awful looking Elio had been released and forgotten already.

They better hurry. Craig T. Nelson isn’t getting any younger.

I am always in for The Incredibles.
People can hate on the sequel all they want. But I'm glad Brad Bird is directly in the driver's seat on this franchise and for as much as we've seen other properties driven into the ground, this one could be milked a whole lot more. Bad cartoons, terrible spinoffs, etc. What we're getting is gold compared to what many properties end up.

The Incredibles is one of my Top 10 favorite movies of all time. Not top 10 animation. Top 10 ALL movies. It is a pretty fantastic achievement on every level.
Incredibles 2 was pretty much awful. Which means it was an OK movie but a colossal disappointment as a sequel, given the creative team's involvement. Barely a weak rehash of the original that was so low-key and uninspiring (and stupidly predictable) that it felt like a DTV sequel with a theatrical budget.
I'll be there for Incredibles 3 but they have a lot of ground to make up.

Peter Sohn was hired to direct. Thread title needs an update. Bird is doing another movie that’s why.

The first film was so damn unique and the second was so damn forgettable. Maybe we'll get lucky and 3 will be the sequel that 2 couldn't be.

I didn’t think part 2 was awful by any measure, but it did feel a bit “shallow” compared to the original. Has Brad Bird or anyone from Pixar ever commented on the difference in quality?
I’m cautiously optimistic for a third, perhaps a fresh perspective will give it the nudge it needs.
(sidebar that just occurred to me, why hasn’t Pixar ever been involved with a Tron project? Seems like a perfect fit.)

Had it been released 2 or 3 years after the first, it would simply be a forgettable, mediocre sequel. But given that it took 14 years to come up with something so disappointing, it makes it terrible.
