Probably just me, but those kids seem a wee bit old to have a fort. They look like they should be driving cars instead of riding bikes. And I’m kinda thinking a movie called MONSTER SUMMER with a cast of relative unknowns (I know Thames was in BLACK PHONE and the others have been in . . . stuff, but still) and direct-to-video ‘stars’ like Gibson and James might be wise to show at least a glimpse or two of its monsters, assuming there even are any. Also, I can’t really tell if this actually set in the past, or if the trailer is just milking the trend in ‘vintage’ shows fronted by kids by using an old pop song. The 90’s cop car, 70’s station wagon, and what looks like a CRT television are about the only tells, and maybe the fact that the kids ride BMX bikes, but everything else feels nearly contemporary. I’m guessing this isn’t a major release.

I don’t know what to make of that trailer. Comedy, horror, coming-of-age? Who the hell knows. I may check it out when it hits streaming.

I did like that Sandlot cameo though.
